A misunderstanding: Yhwach is not the literal "father"/ancestor of Quincy. The Quincy are descended from those who first obtained powers from him through touching him in his infancy. For example, the the story says that he gave them power and misfortune would befall them and they'd die, the powers returning to Ywhach until he could feel, see, etc.

I think Quincy existed long before Yhwach. Pernida says it has always been a Quincy and as the left arm of the Soul King it is much older than Yhwach. Yhwach is only around 1000-1500 years old. While Pernida likely goes all the way back to Soul King's prime times. It is likely Soul King himself was a Quincy as well.

Technically Ichigo has 4 'powers'. Hollow/Quincy/Shinigami and Fullbringer. The latter gets underplayed but being cannon to the story was and is still an innate ability of his (and being derived from hollows via the Grand Fisher attack on Masaki is also immune to Ywach's almighty, as hollows are poisonous to quincy).

Kogen kuchiki is not adopted to the kuchiki clan. He is the husband of the unnamed sister of sojun kuchiki. You can find it in bleach anime zanpakuto arc.

the Kira clan is also a noble family guarding something though exactly what is kinda unknown. Most of the captains and lieutenants are parts of noble families. Its a weird mix like that as each family deals with the soul society by guarding certain seals, guarding royal weapons, or handling certain affairs of the king. its all standard stuff. Squad 11 is the massive exception ok maybe the 3rd seat but seriously they were chosen purely on fighting skill alone and with no ties to any family.

Part of it was the fact that the lore/writing wasn’t that deep yet or maybe in universe the kurosaki’s weren’t common knowledge to the denizens of the soul society. Oh how I love retcons.

@@thegreaterconundrum That’s the point of a retcon, usually it’s a piece of new information that gives a different interpretation or understanding of events. Authors use this as a way to create plot twist or add context. Shiba is not ichigo’s last name there was little reason to believe they were related up until the tybw arc. I think it was planned since soul society for them to be related however this is still a retcon due to nature of what was established prior to the revelation. Ichigo’s mother and father to some extent was definitely a retcon. These are some examples.
