Kenny doesn't have any of unohonas powers. The entire scene where she "passed everything" to Kenny was metaphorical. She fully passed the title of kenpachi, the strongest shinigami, and nothing more. He's just has monster strength and durability

Unohana didn't give Zaraki anything from her. Rather, in a sense, Unohana "gave back" what she "took from" him by releasing the limiters he placed on himself during their first fight. There was nothing Unohana had that she could give him in the first place, as Zaraki was stronger than her from the start, and he couldn't use healing techniques.

Zaraki didn’t inherit any of Unohana’s power. That scene of her handing a bloody sword was just metaphorical to how she’s passing the torch of “Kenpachi” to him.

Alot of Manga material was cut to streamline this episode. Even if it was cut I wish they could have kept the reactions of Ster Ritters to the meteor. Bazz B, Pepe, Quincy Soldiers all were shitting their pants, Askin was like why did we release him in the first place, even Hashwalt ordered his soldiers to Protect Yhwach. Renji and other soul reapers were also terrified. And then we see Kenpachi 1 shot'ing the meteor with his Shikai. To be fair Gremmy could have won by imagining Kenpachi bones as cookies or something like that but he wanted to fight fair against Kenpachi to show how strong he is.He lost because he couldn't imagine a body strong enough to handle Kenpachi's power that he manifested in him.

The point is that Gremmy learned the joy of battle thanks to Kenpachi. He wanted to show off his imagination and have fun, if he just pictured Kenny's heart stopping or his bones turned into cookies, it would ruin the purpose of him enjoying for once the joy of a battle.

The anime cuts a bit of the fight with Gremmy and speeds through alot of details of it. For instance, Gremmy is stated to have been locked in a cage his whole life by Yhwach due to his ability. Its not stated in the episode by the characters since the anime cuts out the Quincy’s reactions to Gremmt’s meteor (they were all scared shitless which shows that he really could have killed them all if Kenpachi didn’t slice the meteor) however in the character cards that show up in every episode it talks of his imprisonment in the cage. They unfortunately never translate these cards so people wouldn’t know this Also, in the light novel its revealed that Gremmy was nerfed due to him being locked in a cage his whole life as he never had the chance to view the world and experience anything. This is stated by Liltotto (the blonde haired girl in Bambietta’s squad) when Gremmy tries to make her donuts before the War and they don’t come out to her liking. The light novel actually makes Gremmy seem more tragic as he was apparently going to be set free after the war and planned on making better snacks for Liltotto (the light novel shows that out of all the Sternritter, she was the only one who wasn’t afraid of Gremmy and actually cared for him).

I think cutting the reactions, while sad, is necessary because of how broken some of the rest of the Sternreitter turns out to be. Askin, for example, has nothing to be worried about.

@@defro125 Im sure Askin had alot to worry about. Spoilers below Askin’s Schrift, The Death Dealing, is only useful in terms of helping him survive attacks if the attack in question doesn’t just instantly kill him or if he doesn’t have his vitals affected. We see him lose twice. Once was with Oetsu. After he replaces his blood he takes Askin seriously and instantly cuts him down. The next is when Grimmjow finally rips his heart out which causes him to die. If you don’t do any of these things and give him a way to become immune to what happened, he survives. However he can’t survive his vitals being severely damaged or survive instant kills.

You guys are 100% right for wanting to see more Gremmy. They adapted 8+ chapters this week which is double what they normally do. Gremmy always felt like the "main boss" or centerpiece for this portion of the 2nd invasion. Definitely a fan favorite. And Kenny is GOATED as usual!

They rushed the episode, its the centerpiece fight of this part. Shouldve been two episodes.... They didnt highlight several things including the quincies shitting themselves when the meteor falling, and the other quincies saying that juha shouldve kept him locked in the cage.

You're not wrong. They shouldn't be doing these fights in one episode. Pretty much every fight this season deserved to be 2 times as long as they were. It's weird because they can afford to make them longer. They are seriously rushing this cour. The episode titles got leaked and every episode is given a title corresponding to a chapter from the manga. So now we know exactly how far this season will go. Its mad. But it leads to the question of what they are planning for the next 2 seasons. Cause they got very few chapters left after this and they confirmed 4 seasons total.

It's "implied" but never stated he's the brain of the Soul King (which makes no sense, since if that's the case, he'd have Reiō's intellect and memories). Askin actually confirms who were given schrifts, and who were born with their powers - Gremmy wasn't on the list of those born with the power.
