his shikai is children's games, the kid version of playing pretend. His bankai is theater, the adult version of playing pretend. He plays out the acts of a traditional theater production, casting those within his bankai as roles within the narrative and warping reality to subject the conditions that befall the characters upon those involved.

Bankai explained in Act 1: because the man hit the woman, he feels great shame as if the wounds he inflicted he can also feel them (and it becomes real damage). Act 2: the man starts feeling even worse for what he did and develops a sickness because of this great shame. Act 3: as a way to atone the man drops into a endless ocean hoping to drown and the woman also drowns with him because she pities him. However, the man becomes a coward, starting to swim up to the surface abandoning his promise to drown along with the woman. Act 4: As a result of all this, the woman wanting to get rid of the man's regret and cowardness, cuts his throat.

Stark would have won. He would not have attempted to flee from the ocean, thus preventing the final act from triggering. 1. He has greater reiatsu than Shunsui (dude's reserves are near limitless) and would drain slower. 2. His soul wolves would be able to kill Shunsui and put an end to the bankai.

@@tristandimitrijev3195 the damage he took would be shared with everyone, although he hadn't really taken damage at that point so it is a bit of a non-factor. But yes, being dragged into the ocean is bad for everyone lol. Bad for Aizen too sure, but we've seen this dude teleport, so he could probably get out of it or just kill Shunsui to end the Bankai.

Shunsui's Bankai and Shikai Spirit alon with Rukia's Bankai Design was shown in the Zanpakuto Rebellion Filler YEARS before TYBW was a thing. So Kubo had it thought out since back then

Ok so the translation seems a bit scuffed so i'll point out a few things. His Bankai creates this giant area of effect that designates performers to participate in a tragedy play. The yellow color scheme and panels in the sky are based on old school Japanese theater. The play itself is about two toxic lovers with Lille being the man and Shunsui being the woman. The play itself seems to be a real Japanese theater production. - In act 1 the man hits the woman, only to feel such shame that the pain he feels mimics the injuries he inflicted on his lover. - In act 2 the man's shame and regrets grows to such a point that he contracts an illness. - In act 3 the couple decides to end their misery by drowning themselves. But the man backs down and tries to swim back to the surface. - In the final act the scorned woman decides to end the man's regret and cowardice by cutting his throat.

This bankai is so twisted, it either resolves in mutual suicide OR Kyoraku only surviving if the opponent lacks courage.

This is why, in my opinion, Kyoraku's zampakuto is the one enemies should fear the most. A) His shikai force you to play a death game with rules that you must follow if you don't want to die. B) His bankai is basically a theatrical death sentence. p.s. - Ngl after this i'm just waiting for another person to release the Bankai.

18:20 So, Ohana did show up more. She actually already had her debut in the old Bleach anime, but it was during a filler arc, the Zanpakuto Rebellion. There, all of the heroes' Zanpakuto spirits are freed from the swords and rebel against the Shinigami. It's a very well regarded arc and I'm glad elements of it were brought over to the canon story.

Lisa is the member of the Vizards who wears glasses, and was Kyouraku's lieutenant 100 years ago. She often threatened her captain with more... extreme methods. We got a small scene in the Turn Back the Pendulum Arc where Nanao is a child that recently graduated and joined the squad, and it appears Lisa used to read books to her. So it seem Nanao may have seen her as a bit of a role model.
