I saw them perform at Nasty Gal at the 3rd Street Promenade. Some young woman came up to me with a flyer and asked if I liked free beer. Showed up for the free beer and stayed for the entire set they were so good.

Las chicas de Bleached están de vuelta con su segundo disco, pero algo ha cambiado, si su debut “Ride Your Heart” nos presentaba un toque pop a lo The Go-Go’s, ahora regresan con temas más cortantes. Han dejado atrás el rollo sixties, para hacerse más roqueras y endurecer su sonido. Riffs acelerados, pero sin perder la gracia de sus armonías vocales. Las hermanas Jennifer y Jessie Clavin y la bajista Micayla Grace dan más energía a su sonido, al que no quieren dar restricciones. El cambio operado en "Welcome The Worms" responde también a cuestiones personales, no podía ser de otro modo. Hablo de una ruptura sentimental de una de las componentes del grupo, que la llevó a refugiarse en una apartada casa del Joshua Tree. Ahí, en mitad del árido desierto, fue donde compusieron estas canciones. "Keep on Keepin' On", "Trying to Lose Myself Again", "Wednesday Night Melody", "Sour Candy" o "Desolate Town" son canciones más duras, que les alejan del Riot grrrl y acercan al rock & roll o el punk, por momentos. Música independiente novedades.
