This is why it’s so important for me to learn how to pronounce people’s names correctly. Sometimes it’s all they have. I was a principal at a school a few years ago and we had a new student come into the office with his mom when she enrolled him. I’d never heard his name before so I asked Mom to repeat it a few times for me and I made other word associations to break it down into parts so I would never forget how to pronounce it correctly. I explained it to his teacher and all year long she NEVER SAID HIS NAME RIGHT. This led all of her other students to say his name incorrectly. It broke my heart. His face always lit up when I saw him and greeted him with the correct pronunciation of his name. It’s a simple thing, really, but it can make a huge impact.

I am amazed it takes so long really. Just say "Nicholas" (like the actor Nicholas Cage) but leave the "s" at the end out. Maybe if he just wrote "Nichola" people would get it, this way only one sound dropped and it somehow became Knee-Cola.

It’s not the name pronunciation but the follow up question in Serbian language that got his attention
@predragnikolic58078 ай бұрын
@@lkix8010 I thought so, too. But upon looking at it more carefully, I'm certain the way he raised his head upon hearing "Nikola", that he was reacting to that, and he was surprised. And you remember how fast Joker's response time is. And I'm telling this as a Serbian. BTW, we don't mind for our names to be mispronounced. My own name, when pronounced correctly sounds like an internal combustion engine clicking on all cilinders. 😂 So I don't mind people pronouncing it the easier way. And I'm pretty sure that's the case for a majority of Serbian people. Nikola was just pleasently surprised.
