A year ago I made my locs brown. I used developer only and let it sit for some time. I did this several times. It was a slow process but I love it.

I love you always but your Locs are thick and beautiful and I think you should use light dyes with less hydrogen peroxide. I also create content about LOCS and my biggest mistake was coloring my Locs. As we speak they are thinning and breaking and falling off. Please be careful Niecey. Love.

Hey im thinking of using hydrogen peroxide on my thick locs but I noticed ppl tend to end their loc journey after they dye their hair. Would you say the peroxide changed the texture of your hair or damaged your locs? Did doing the dye affect your decision to big chop ?

Why not use bleach and developer? This is not less damaging. Developer is peroxide in different strengths (volumes). This isn’t to be facetious but a genuine question.

This is less damaging. Peroxide alone is much less abrasive than bleach AND peroxide.

I did it back in the early 2000’s when I was in middle school. It is very damaging to your hair. She has locs so you wouldn’t tell a difference. I had a Afro back then. I wouldn’t recommend any chemicals in the hair

Lemon juice is safer, I hope you use a deep conditioner after. You would need more making soda. Wash after with baking soda.

Should have poured baking soda in bowl first, then gradually added peroxide until you achieved consistency you wanted. dont forget moisturize bc peroxide and baking soda is drying. Good Lick lil sis! Beautiful Hair and Melanin!
