Welcome back to another Peak District hike! In this weeks video I am heading up to Bleaklow where I'll be checking out Higher Shelf Stones, the B - 29 bomber crash sit and the summit of Bleaklow.
Here is a link to OS Maps of a very similar route I plotted before doing the walk. Please only use this as a guideline and properly plan your own route :)

I’ve only walked in Derbyshire once, a little place around Matlock, but after watching this, I think I may have to stop over for a few nights and try some different places! 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing Alex.😊

Great video Alex, thanks for posting. I've walked up to the crash site a couple of times and it is a great place to visit. Quite eerie and sad, but as you said, there's so much of the wreakage left, it's interesting to see. You're right on another thing too, it is bog central over that way!

One of my favourite walks. The waterfalls walk up Kinder from the Snake Forest is another (and much quieter)

The walk from Glossop up to higher shelf stones and back down through drs gate is one of my favourites and also one of the toughest ascents I've done, nice test of your fitness. Love the video, cheers

wow, that's a huge amount of wreckage up there 😮 almost looks like someone has been littering but it's pretty cool history.

Another super video Alex ! I remember doing part of that route with you some years ago, starting from Birchen Clough Car Park, through the Snake Woodlands onto Doctors Gate and then doing that long old uphill to Higher Shelf Stones! Fantastic views there, I have done it twice since but that climb doesn’t get much easier especially if you forget about the numerous false summits 🤣🤣 Well done for cracking Bleaklow in that weather. I had some pretty extreme weather in the Peaks last week, 60mph winds but Kinder Downfall was performing it’s reverse trick big time!

Another great video, Alex. One question. You were at Bleaklow Summit. The big 6ft stick and the massive pile of stones, Bleaklow Head? I thought that was the summit. Well, it's where I went on the Ethel Challenge. Can you tell me how far apart they are. When I was up there last, I went to the Kissing Stones, too. Great hike Alex, thanks for sharing.
