Another great video, Patrick. I'm like you, I have a core of people who I watch, an outer circle which I try to watch when I can, and those that I drop in on every now and again and watch a vlog or two. Don't let them get under your skin. As for your videos, Patrick, you can post every day, and I'll watch every day. They are so well researched with great cinematography. The Over Exposed is definitely an eerie place. The thought that 13 people lost their lives on that very spot gives it reverence to me. I found that people were talking in hushed tones. It is good and right that their lives are remembered. Bleaklow Head, I've been there a few times, maybe four, but I always seem to push the pole straight. It is that wobbly up there, and I ended up on my bum last time I did it. The Kissing Stones are beautiful from that certain angle, and I enjoyed climbing the Hern Stones taking some pictures as I did. I really enjoy your vlogs, Patrick, and of course, I can relate to them more when I have done the walk myself. When I went hiking with Steven (A Tramp In The Hills), he said something very interesting. 'We are all just hiking, you would think the vlogs would all be the same, but everyone is different'. And that is so right. We all have our own way of telling the story, our own angles that we shoot from, and although we hike the same hikes, no two vlogs are the same. You certainly give so much more depth than me and fully research it all, too. I'm a hike and a point, and you can tell. But that is what makes us so unique as vloggers. Our approaches. Thank you so much for sharing, Patrick. I have really enjoyed it and remember...... HANG ON TO YOUR HAT!!! 😂😊
@solitaryrambler Жыл бұрын
Haha yeah I had to keep that hat shot in Chris! 😂 I occasionally just get a little riled when someone makes a comment like that, so that's why I said what I did on Bleaklow. You're right though, I shouldn't let that get under my skin. This was my first time onto Bleaklow Head. I can imagine that wooden pole has been straghtened and pushed over many times. Good words from Steven. We are all very different indeed, which is a really good thing, and I enjoy watching your vlogs too. I've been making film now for many years, so I guess I've become a bit of a perfectionist over time. Therefore, I've enjoyed spending a lot of my spare time working on the editing of each of my videos to make them as interesting as possible, just as if I was watching them for the first time myself. Thanks very much Chris as always for taking the time to watch, comment and of course your support too. Always appreciated👍

I'm watching this in retrospect, having done the walk this week, when the mist came down, the rain came down, visibility was severely reduced and my dog fell in a peat bog and wasn't impressed. Didn't see a soul at all and decided to abort after an hour, so didn't get to the crash site. Nice to see what it all looks like it better weather. Thank you for posting.

Quite a while since I was up that way. The wide covering of wimberry bushes looked very attractive, though I don't remember seeing so many; but then again, most times I was up there it was in the winter months when they would be much duller. The crash site these days has changed. There used to be so much gleaming stainless steel, but it seems to have weathered a lot over the years. But it was really nice to be taken there again, thanks to your film. Many thanks.
@solitaryrambler Жыл бұрын
It was great to capture the wimberry bushes on the moor when I was here, they looked attractive indeed. The crash site is certainly looking weathered now, but I guess the preservation of it is meant to reflect that possibly? I did notice that the American flag is a recent addition. Thanks for watching Michael and for commenting👍

My word, it was most certainly very windy upon Bleaklow, Patrick, but you had the fantastic views from the top there. It was without doubt a very tragic accident with the aeroplane in the late 1940s, and in such a desolate spot. The rock formations you show are amazing geological outcrops. An amazing place, and many thanks for this production for us all to enjoy. Keep well.

I felt we were spoiled with one a week for a few months. You will always get one moaner no matter what you say or do. Why they had to voice that I do not know 😁 A few of my friends have visited that crash site. It's very sad and a fitting memorial. Those young men never made it home sadly. A tragic end and I could see that you sensed the sadness of it all too. As always it was an enjoyable walk to watch. A lovely blue sky albeit windy and nice green hillside. Cheers Patrick, it's always a pleasure. PS I'm glad you got your hat back 😁

It sounded a very windy day for your Snake Pass walk. Landscape looked very bleak but majestic. Not been there myself. good point your comments about posting and watching videos. I must say I agree. Not always easy keeping up watching regularly. Do you schedule all your films ahead in one go or as and when due? I've found the scheduling option preferable to have breaks in between. Sad about that plane crash. Loved the minor chord progressions in this piece of music. Very nice Patrick.
@solitaryrambler Жыл бұрын
Hi Shanita, yes there was a slight breeze this day 😀 I do schedule my films to publish every Friday morning. I was scheduling them fortnightly, but because of the number of films I had been making, it got to the point where some of them could end up going public a year after they were made! 😀 It's a good idea to have breaks, and despite what I've said above, I did leave a month's break before last weeks film. I think at the moment I'm just trying to get out and film when I can as things happening in my life may at some stage leave less opportunities to get out. Thanks Shanita for your support, for watching and for your comments, especially regarding my music👍

I have two special reasons for thanking you for your video. First, I spent many hours walking around Kinder Scout when I was a teenager (70 years ago) and it was great to be reminded of the wonderful scenery. The second reason is to thank you for the scene of the air crash site. I have a short description of that air crash in my recent book "Maralinga Mystery", in which I explain that the aircraft was one of eight which took thousands of photos and half a million metres of film, of two atomic explosions at Bikini Atoll. I had read about the crash and now I have a picture in my mind as well. May I add another short story about air crashes and Kinder Scout. During the war, my father was looking out of the rear window of our house in Strines and he suddenly said ""There's a German aircraft." A moment later, he said "Oh, he's crashed" and so he had.
