Jags fan here...I can't deny how GOOD CJ looked as a Rookie...dude was TREMENDOUS....so calm in the pocket. I think he is the Real Deal...but year 2 will be interesting. Trevor needs to be better but has huge upside...if Trevor ever puts it all together he will do some amazing things. Both are VERY good players..CJ looked much better as a Rookie than Trevor did ( I KNOW...Urban Meyer)

Very true. But CJ couldn’t beat the tough teams and loss to the worst team in the NFL. I think people need to pump the brakes and see this first place schedule play out. I believe the only playoff team they beat last season was the Bucs.

@@leevancleef358 I hear you, I do. The Jags and Texans scored the exact same amount of points and had like a 4 yard per game difference last year. Jags having a 1st place schedule and the Texans having a last place schedule. The difference in the 2022 Jags and 2023 Texans. Is the Jags actually beat good teams. The Texans, other than the injury riddled Browns team in the playoffs, didnt have a win last season that stands out. Let’s be honest, the most impressive win they had all season was against the Jags in week 3. They caught the Jags on their heels after that tough loss to KC. I truly don’t think the better team won in week 3. And the Jags should have swept the Texans last season.

Lawrence had 25 total tds. In a down year. CJ had 26. In his rookie year. The head to head matchups were damn near even statistically with a 1-1 split. For reference, Mac Jones as a rookie, had 22 TDs on a much worse team than CJ had last year. And made the playoffs. A step backwards for CJ isn’t out the question. It’s really a draw between CJ and Lawrence atm. Lawrence had 30 total TDs his second season. Let’s see what CJ does. I think it’s gonna be a situation where we alternate every season as far as who wins the division. CJ does look real smooth tho. Coming from a jags fan. Not worried about Will or Ant.
@christopherhall93485 ай бұрын
@@maniacslap1623 his T.D. to int. ratio is much higher than Strouds. Trevor Lawrence's decision making under pressure is his problem. As long as he comfortable he's good but he needs more protection to be succesful in the system he's in because scrambling is gonna keep him hurt as already proven.

As a Texans fan, the Colts are more so a rival of every AFC South team. We all hated watching Manning dominate. Jags fans are infinitely more tolerable than Titans fans. At the end of the day, I want to see Trevor become what he was talked about being, Richardson in Indy stay healthy, and Levis thrive in Tennessee. I want to see this division become much more competitive so that whoever wins, doesn’t have to listen to the Ol’ well they only won because they play in the AFC South. I don’t think there was ever a time when we said all 4 teams having QBs they consider being “the guy” at the same time. Let’s face it, competition makes everything better and seperates the contenders.

Please stop this stupid narrative “you’re not sneaking up on teams” by the time week 10 rolled around they were in playoff contention. When they went into the Bengals house and got the last second win they were on notice. They been on the radar and teams took them serious then and they responded well.

You can’t act like he didn’t play when Urban coached. Secondly, I can see where Jags fans thought that Lawrence had his moment in ‘22 when they came back on the Chargers. Last year he was injured, but the Jags also had the division and needed to win 1 game, but couldn’t do it. Lawrence’s ‘22 season stats wise may compare to CJ, but CJ carried a team with 2nd and 3rd string offensive lineman across the majority of his o-line, his Wr corps was playing musical chairs all season with injuries and became a 1 man show with Nico Collins late in the year, he had no running game, and the 26th ranked pass defense. He did all this and broke rookie records on his way to doing it. The sign of a great QB is that they elevate what is around them.

This is a bleak reminder that the Jags have been completely leap-frogged by Houston and CJ Stroud is on pace to be the new Peyton Manning of the division. Trevor Lawrence has to improve DRAMATICALLY this season in order to prevent that from happening. He has to have around 35 TDs and under 12 INTs and around 4.5K yards….And he needs to cut his fumbles down by about 75%. If it is more of the same where he is struggling to get 25 TDs, has erratic spurts, and is loose with the football, it may be all over.

Sir you are on some serious drugs because stroud was in MVP talks. I haven’t heard TL name not once being mentioned, as a rookie on top of that. Most injured line in the league, didn’t have his number 2 WR at the tail end of the season , no run game, and he still has one of the best season by a rookie QB all time with a rebuild squad. TL couldn’t win the division when it was literally handed to him on his front porch, all he had to do was sign on the line and put the date and he failed to do even that. CJ is going to forever haunt him in this division
