You can fill the filters with diesel before you install then there will not be much air left to get out of the system.

Just a a pointer. When using the fuel pump to bleed the fuel system, you just need to turn the key to the run position and you should be able to hear the pump pumping since it is an electric pump. You do not need to crank the starter.

Lol

Dustin Lantow that would only happen if the fuel is bleeding right? if there was no demand of fuel the pump should stop pushing, right?

Did you ever figure what finally got the manual lever to start priming the fuel lines?

Good one dude . Perseverance paid off ! Saved you a call out fee and mechanics rate . I always study up as I'm about to go into hills of Waitomo NewZealand to do same job on a JD 6200 . The farmer ran outa diesel . It should have an electric pump . Anyway thanks man .

I found a very fast and easy way to check for fuel leaks and pressure up fuel system. Remove fuel tank cap and cover opening with rubber or old shirt, or anything. Pressure up tank with air blow gun.

Definitely works we do something similar on aircraft only takes a little psi
@MJMalone-o6b9 ай бұрын
Yes, only need about 5psi. I got a piece of rubber and put a tire valve stem on it. Put it over fuel fill neck and hose clamp it. Makes it easier to prime and find leaks by yourself.

Lo q pasa q ami le susede lo mismo pero se me quedan seco el filtro mas grande de diesel

So my dodge you can drain the water while the engine is running. I tried that the other day on my JD and it died in about 10 secs. Lol. I had to learn how to bleed the lines and prime the system about like what you are doing here. Wish the pump would put out more flow.
@WorldsOkayestFarmer5 жыл бұрын
Kirk King I wouldn’t do it while running because the water would be disturbed

If it's any consolation I just did the same stupid thing myself not that long ago. When the tractor died I realized my mistake and just swore like sailor. I grew up on a farm but only recently inherited my dad's John Deere so I'm still a rookie.

You're supposed to bleed it at the final fuel filter -
@vermontapple2 жыл бұрын
I have a 5095m with the same filter set up. Of course the dumbed down operators manual doesnt cover how to change the fuel filters or how to bleed it. Does anyone know the proper procedure? That longer filter screws me up every time.

I’m having trouble with our 5095m starting, dying, then cranking longer than normal and starting. I have air in the system somewhere and can’t get it out. Any ideas?

Will the engine speed up before dieing then refuse to restart if there is air in the line ?? Mine is a John Deere 5400
@WorldsOkayestFarmer3 жыл бұрын
Wes Brackman the RC enthusiast possibly crack the fuel lines at the injectors if you can find them and let fuel flow

You should have turned engine over a little and pump would have been on back of cam lobe and then pumped fuel
@ThePullnfool2 жыл бұрын
Yes that was my guess.. I made the same comment..

I think you were on high cam the first time and the pump was not working..

Eddie ball tinkering is a really good way to learn. You might screw up, but you can also learn from mistakes!

Your mom should have taught you some manners.
@b.l.barfield24203 жыл бұрын
First you should learn how to bleed the air out of your fuel system before you actually do it on camera. You don't even know how to actuate the lift pump, so get someone to explain that first. Good luck, you need it. Thanks for trying anyway.
@brencostigan2 жыл бұрын
To be fair, I think that the lift pump rather enjoyed being fingered.
