Ha! Glad you got it :) you also can control displacement with a ramp or animated texture as the mask in the displacement blender and control it in there. But I like controlling with fields too, and vertex mapping is def the best way for visual control in the viewport. Def posting this in the discord for the community! Thanks for sharing!

How in the world did I not know about the reference node!? I need to look into the Node system. I’m still not as proficient in as I was with Shader Graph.

Hi GG, What HDRI did you use for this scene and what is the red candy texture on the top half? I like this look. Figured out the Red candy texture just need the HDRI now :)
@Greyscalegorilla14 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the question. 1. The HDRI is #45 from our Pro Studios Metal Collection. 3dassets.greyscalegorilla.com/collections/edcdf057-28a4-49a7-96c5-d60dc93258bd 2. The Materials are from the new Colorful Abstract Materials collection. You can see them all here! 3dassets.greyscalegorilla.com/collections/3e24c3e1-39fe-43a0-96dd-23733a4d1221 I also used two area lights with the Grid Softbox area light maps. Maybe we need to do a scene breakdown? 🤔

is there a way to do it for Octane?
@Greyscalegorilla14 сағат бұрын
Octane also has material blender. And I think it does support Displacement. Can someone confirm?

Make more blender content. We also pay for the subscription, but we don’t get equal amount of content. Second option is to lower the subscription fee for anything but cinema4D.
@BenDaleTV22 сағат бұрын
Did this technique over a decade ago in Cinema 4D. Nothing new. Just different workflow.

Why didn't you make a youtube video so I could learn it too!? 😜
