Just wanted to say you are such a phenomenal teacher that I don't even understand Japanese but these videos make complete sense to me. Far more than English language ones. Makes me want to learn your language. Thank you from Brazil. :)

when you are making the eyes, i saw some tris you could make into a proper quad.
mm san, In 12:42 You subdivide but only created vertical lines. I subdivide but created both a vertical and a horizontal line. I used a knife tool. what difference between them?
@mmcganimetic3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! Subdivision in vertex selection mode results in both horizontal and vertical splits When dividing only vertically, it is necessary to perform subdivision in edge selection mode. Also, I used subdivision in the video, but of course you can do the same with the knife tool. However, with a knife tool, the work of inserting divisions is difficult. So, I used subdivision in edge selection mode

This shading part is quite hard.

20:30 Can't get that triangle shape shadow. Tho I make everything as in the video.

Actually, not only there. I get basic idea, but I can't understand what is the problem: is it specific design of choosed character (she has long face) or I am not enough skillfull and made mistake in mesh.
Great tutorial as always! Somehow, I never manage to nail down the lips, it always looks weird looking for me, like if it was an alien

Thank you for your comment! I thought it was a good idea to put the edges of the lips inside a little.

Me, too. My model has a cute anime face but grandma lips. I did find using his trick of controlling how the triangles are formed helps tho.

I was biting my fingernails when you started adding triangles. Hehe.
@mmcganimetic3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! It's kind of weird to use triangles, isn't it? But in low poly, the deltahedron is actually an effective means.
@SchalaArchives2023ish3 жыл бұрын
@@mmcganimetic Yeah. I heard that it's best to use triangles in areas that won't deform.
@Misaki-Ki3 жыл бұрын
@サラ姫 You normally wouldn't use triangles unless absolutely necessary, but when dealing with anime characters like this it's a very valid option. It gives you far more control over the shading, which is very apparent on the faces of these types of models. It's precisely the reason he goes over shading and how quads are split right after introducing triangles.

@@Misaki-Ki Alright. I'm afraid I don't know Japanese, so apart from the visual aids and 5% English, I'm just relying on what he does.

What's the diference between this project and the last one?! Kaguya Sama character... President Sister.
@mmcganimetic3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! It ’s the same in terms of creating a character. The differences are character, low poly, ease of making Braid hair, straight bangs, texture bake, It ’s like drawing a picture of Texture firmly. The content of this area is almost the same as last year^^;
