he literally made blender within blender, youre awesome dude Ive been learning houdini and people from the houdini community literally reference you

well I mean him and erindale are like the only people who try to make any of the functionality of houdini work inside of geometry nodes XD

Wait... What? I've been looking for information about raymarching and SDFs in Blender all afternoon and now you do this. Here is your like good sir.
@MrSofazocker9 ай бұрын
Then you haven't looked hard enough. Tons more insightful and useful and comprehensive guides on YT without the öhms, ehms, and node spaghett

@@MrSofazocker I just wanted to highlight the coincidence being such a niche topic, maybe I didn't express myself correctly. On the other hand, I said that I was looking for information all afternoon, not that I hadn't found a lot of information :). Also, Default Cube is my parasocial friend and I like his öhms, ehms and nodes pasta

This is such a powerful technique that you NEED to explore it further (Particlarly in 3d), fBM, infinite repetition of any shape, fractals that render in real time. You can even combine this with geometry nodes (Cast the rays as the vertext of a plane) to get actual geometry. You can do the calculation of normals, then those normals can be plugger into a principled BSDF to have your virtual object interact with the scene world and lights, the posibilities are huge and very few are exploring them. I work with shaders and if you go to shadertoy you will see the full extent of what this technique is capable of

The real question i have is how are you so smart, being able to create something like this is amazing

This might be the trick I need to make completely realistic tree rings inside of a virtual tree. - With virtual trees I have an unlimited supply of unique lumber with perfect knots (including incased knots) to use on any wood shader. I can't wait to give this a try!

This is sick on the same level of the guy that made the real virtual camera inside of blender to take real virtual photos.

huh? nugget knows billion times more than him. How's sm1 recreating every beginner SDF tutorial on KZbin comparing to a guy who literally invents shit?

Now I want you to create a full computer, with logic gates, SDFs. With that computer you calculate the 3d scene.

Next step... 3D SDFs projected onto a virtual screen 😊. C'mon, you can do it! This is bread and butter for the GLSL freaks, so a great source is Shader Toy, and one of its founders, Inigo Quilez.

Why the render took longer? Isn’t things like direct ray-marching makes it faster? Edit: Oh, you said 2-3 days to make, not to render.. sorry 😂
