@@mizukukun This is great stuff!! I know it's 4 months later, but it would be awesome to see a quick tutorial going over how you did this. What are (how did you make) the shadows and highlights? How did you get the interpolation to work so well? (Mine tend to distort over the length of the interpolation.)

Can interpolation be used on strokes? For example, could you draw a frown, then use the sculpt (I think it's sculpt) to make the stroke into a smile and then interpolate the in between frames?
@kyriakosris8250
@kyriakosris8250 Жыл бұрын
Yes.Interpolation affects the active layer so either move the mouth to a different layer or copy all the other strokes of the layer to the new keyframe. Keep in mind that in new keyframes you will lose the rig for this layer.

I watched the Hbomber video about plagiarism and it reminded me of this video. Crediting just in the description and instagram post about it of a creator you took massive inspiration from is not really enough. As of the current date of December 2023, the current credit by Mizukukun on this video to Dedouze is buried at the bottom of the KZbin description saying: "Also, like I said in my Instagram post, I studied Dedouze’s style for this render; his style is very recognizable and his works are very pretty!" The colour palette is so similar to Dedouze's, so much so that when most people looked at the thumbnail they will think it's one of his videos. The reason this is additionally not ok is because this is not a 'I learned from this tutorial from Dedouze and this is the result,' but you are making your OWN tutorial by using, in part, his teachings without enough due credit (as of December 2023 it is currently titled: 'How I ANIMATE in Blender with Grease Pencil'). This is because it's published in the same video genre, which is grease pencil tutorials, which may take from their existing viewer base. It's a really great tutorial, and everyone needs more blender help with grease pencil! But let's not ruin this lovely blender community by taking from existing creators that are already putting a lot of work into pushing the technology further with their own research please 💙
@mizukukun
@mizukukun Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time to bring this to my attention in the way that you did and in detail. I did not intend to bury any credit; I was experimenting with blender and wanted to post my results, as well as collate some tips that I wished I would’ve known before starting myself. This was not meant to be a full tutorial, but a process video that just broke down how I went about making each part of the piece. The reason why the video is titled in that wag is because I didn’t just watch a Dedouze tutorial video then made my own work; when I mentioned that I studied the style, I referred to mostly Instagram posts and one of his “process videos” to see how the lighting and layering was done. Hence I used similar colors (to visualize the lighting), though the character and background lineart style itself are how I usually draw. The actual tutorials I used were mainly for the toon shader and lighting animations. The above is just an explanation for the current standing, but I understand the points you’ve brought up! I’ll update the description to link everything at the top, which I should have done in the beginning. I’ll also update the title to include that this was meant to be posted as a process video. Though I refer to this video when people ask me for a tutorial, I inform them beforehand that it’s intended to be a behind the scenes breakdown of the piece. I don’t have access to KZbin studio at the moment, but I’ll update these before by the end of the weekend. Apologies if this reply took a while; I don’t have notifications on so I have to manually check them, and things like these tend to get buried under my other subscriber notifications. Thank you so much again!

@mizukukun
@mizukukun Жыл бұрын
Hey! I didn’t really experience much lag on my end in regards to the grease pencil and layering. The only lag I experienced would be when putting it on render mode if I selected cycles instead of eevee. (Refer to my settings at the end of the video)

Hiiii i really lovee your art, may i ask a recomendation how to start studying blender? Maybe you have a course recomendation or youtube channel recomendation
@mizukukun
@mizukukun Жыл бұрын
Hi! First of all thank you so much! For learning blender, personally I didn’t do any course. I just decided on something that I wanted to model and went straight into it (knowing nothing about the program), then just searched online when I came across a problem, or wanted to achieve a specific look. That’s how I’m learning until now actually! It’s easier for me to learn that way than a strict course since I end up just experimenting and finding out how to do things on my own. Though for KZbin channel recommendations, one that was particularly helpful was Eve Sculpts! Good luck with learning Blender! :>>
