how do I export the object at the end so that it's ready for video 2?
@AnyBrick2 жыл бұрын
You dont need to export it to use it again. You may do tutorial 2 just in same blend file as you created the brick. Or if you would like to import an object from another blend file you open the new blend and do file --> append and select blend file and object you would like to import. Via append you can get everything from an other blend file. Collections, objects or just materials.

@@AnyBrick is it the ones that are not connected
@AnyBrick4 жыл бұрын
The not connected elements are part of the mesh, but all connected, too. That is the reason why it is recommended to remove the not connected and double ones from the mesh to reduce the total amount of information to the necessary one.

Mention that this is for prefab lego stuff in the goddamn video title. People are looking for instructions on cleaning up custom mesh topology errors that accumulate over a period of manual modeling: n-gons, non-planar polygons, flipped normals, intersections, loose bits, non-manifolds, doubles, etc. …
@AnyBrick4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry you didn't found, what you have expected. I thought the explanation at the videos beginning would be sufficient. By the way: normals, doubles and loos verticies are discussed in this video. Nevertheless I followed your advice and updated the titel.

@@AnyBrick Thank you very much! The explanation requires one to start watching and it's not the most concise. My point is to be able to distinguish from the search page. And manual mesh construction brings in its own flavor of topology errors, not as clear-cut as working off a cookie-cutter "template".
