i got an addon this one on script its quite tricky to align it to face and not rotated by having y as zero make it straight and not rotated.

Awesome video, it really nailed what I was looking for. But I've got another question: How do I align these cubes in the same direction? The video just shows how to align them to the face normals, but the other axes are all over the place. Got any tips, guru?

Sure, just don't connect the original mesh noodle in the join mesh node, if that's what you mean, but the cube does not show anywhere but on the faces so there is nothing to hid there.
