Man, I was working on a render that took almost 3 hours. I have a 3080ti also and felt like I spent a lot for something that isn’t performing well. Checked the settings you showed and it rendered it down to 4 mins 🤡 thank you very much! Helped me a lot

I've been promising myself a new laptop for ages & after seeing this demonstration it's time to do it. Have you any info on how this method compares to Blender 3.0 using cycles X . Apparently the Blender fraternity is going crazy about how fast the render times are. Back in the days of 2.79 & earlier you could use blender on any run of the mill laptop, but these days with upgraded manta flow sims (fluid, smoke etc) you really have to have a laptop/desktop to handle the processing power that blender requires & I have no doubt, as newer versions are released, it'll require a very expensive unit to run blender.

Dude Blender 3.0 cycles X is slow compared to 3.1, it is crazy how fast that technology is developing. The Blender team was talking about all the new improvements in 3.1 my mind was blown. I suspect each iteration throughout Blender 3-4 will have massive increases in render speed as it seems to be a core focus along side geometry nodes. I did a video on cycles x but I will do an update on the latest version soon to compare it to the previous generations. Cycles x 3.0 is 6 times faster than normal cycles. Yep to get the most out of blender it will hurt your bank balance unfortunately, but it honestly feels like a different planet compared to my old laptop from before. Intel 5000. I have been thinking about and have added your request to trello about the xmen character....i should have something done or a few variations of it by xmas hopefully. (since you can have different particle effects to get the same result) excited about your idea thanks :)

to take advantage or this in blender renders you need tensor cores (real time ray tracing)

@@FunwithBlender Blender 3.1 ? Ok, i'm officially out of touch, I didn't even know there is a 3.1 ! I'm glad you mentioned it, I can now make a note of "tensor cores" when I mortgage the house to afford the new laptop 😂. I sort of feel sorry for people just starting out in 3d with the cost of a computer that is capable of running blender. Rendering times are getting so fast now. I remember days when even the best of us would start a render before we went to bed & hopefully it was finished by morning ! Glad you like the "Mystique" X men project, it's one I've been working on for a while & if the truth be known it's out of my league, I just don't have the experience or knowledge for something that detailed. Cheers 👍

@@nigellill3222 hopefully I can produce something that is good enough for you to take it further, worst case we should be able to get there with a team effort.
