ALSO, another glitch with the 'error message' button- The few times it does work, it never catches all the errors. My file had nearly 100 errors, and it only showed me 10 of them. So, it's just broken. Don't trust it until they fix that, and go through all of them manually if you wanna make sure you get them all :)

Are you planning to do something similiar, like a side mini series about exporting content but specifically to UE4? I'm more interested in jiggle / general physics and how it can be transposed faithfully and without much hassle in the UE4, I can't seem to find easy explanation/videos in how to export it. Anyway, thank for the content, KZbin is very boring these days from me, you are one of the rarest content creator that can ignite in me the desire of pressing Blender icon after all the fails lol

After you've exported a model to unity, is there anyway to change the default pose in the scene viewer? I had my crouch animation as the first one as it's stuck in that pose in the scene view, making it hard to determine how high I should make the capsule collider. Will I have to reorder the animations just to fix that or is there something in Unity that can do that?

Can i ask? I make some water simulation with dynamic paint in blender But when i export it to fbx, the animation data are not read by unity Any solution for that?

I'm going to assume you have the dynamic paint canvas set to wave mode since you said water simulation? If that's the case you should be able to bake the simulation of the canvas to an animation. At least, I know you can do that for rigid bodies and that's also under the physics tab. I'll go check and come back.

@@raitoart5591 Yeah, I'm not an expert when it comes to exporting (I didn't try that so you'll have to figure that part out yourself) but I just tried baking it and you *can* in fact bake the dynamic paint canvas as an animation. You don't even need the brush anymore after you do it which is pretty cool. You can find the bake button under the "cache" drop down menu of the canvas. After that (with the canvas still selected) go to "Object" in the top lefthand corner next to where you switch between mode and edit mode and go to "Animation" which will be under "shade flat" and select "Bake Action" Tell Blender how many frames of the object you want baked into an animation and voila, you've successfully made you're simulation into an animation that I'm pretty sure you can export.

Sometimes animations just bug out when exported to fbx and imported into Unity, but that might only be because I put all my actions into one action, guess that’s my fault!

Do shape keys that are meant to correct the shapes when the model moves into certain poses transfer over into Unity and do their drivers still work, or do we need to manually remap them to our animations in Unity?

ALTERNATE METHOD: Just drop the .blend file in there. That does tend to work with no issues for me personally, but you do you. Also, Blender is open source and uses python(and for my best bet is more worth it than Maya because for $1100 a year, MAYA IS F**KING FRUSTRATING!!!!)so a fix from someone random may be in the StackExchange forums or elsewhere.

I keep seeing people saying you can drag the blend file in, but I've never found a video of someone dragging in the blend file and seeing them separate the actions, how do you get the animation actions to separate in Unity?

@@raitoart5591 If you have more than one parallel installations of blender, you'll want to make sure, that the blend file opens in the most recent blender version. Unity will always use the version of blender for import, that the blend files are associated with. Let's assume, that you installed blender 2.7x first and installed a beta of 2.8x seperately, the installer won't update the file association to the 2.8.x beta itself.( especially true, if you install and update blender through steam) So unity will fail to load any blend file created or edited in 2.8, that was not saved in compatibility mode. I had this problem with 2.49 and 2.7 files. I had to manually change the associated installation from 2.49 to 2.7. After that, any blend file could be imported regardless of the version.
