Blender Octane in 2024 - A Beginner's Guide

I'm a long-time cycles user who's dabbled in luxcore render before. I usually find myself defaulting to cycles on any real projects because I know it better. But I know octane is more commonly used in professional circles, so I'm working to get more familiar with it. Thanks for your channel! Keep up the good work!

would be nice to see a VFX shot done with magic Lantern c-DNG in a aces linear workflow for maximum quality.....wonder what would be possible with that nifty little camera????offcourse with octane render!!!!😉

hi patrick.. thx for the tutorial.. can i ask for a favor? when i render in octane the frame takes too long to finish, almost 45 minutes for suzanne with a glossy material and a floor and background with diffuse.. please can u tell me what the render settings to make the rendering faster? i have a nvidia 920m with cuda (model year 2015 its quite old) with 16gb of ram

As someone has already mentioned...it looks like your Roughness Generator is not working. I wonder if it has anything to do with Octane Studio vs Octane Prime Beta; no errors are thrown in the console.

The roughness generator has not effect on the roughness ,and it's written Grungy Noise in the download scene file instead of Smears on the video :(

Is octane worth using in blender?

For me it is but also cycles and Eevee I use them all 👍🏾🤓
