This is the best open source software. When I first got Blender, I had no clue what to do. It just stayed on my computer. The very first thing I modeled using a tutorial was a pretty crummy UFO. I now know how to do stuff I never dreamed of doing. Thanks Blender!

As someone who as a student has made use of many different 3D applications, including Blender, but in regards to your comment, having not spent thousands on the software, I really don't think the money has anything to do with it. I respect and admire what people do with Blender, and while I think Blender can be just as powerful as the other applications, in terms of pure simplicity and elegance of workflow I personally don't think Blender measures up.

I'm an XSI user since 10 years or so and for month or so I'm learning Blender 3D not only because its free but for what it is. technically it can do everything i need and my only concern was the workflow. After doing some modelling and rendering i have to say that its nearly as good as XSI. ATM I'm missing only Bmesh and some better UV tools, but i know it will come soon. This transition to Blender was one of the best and most exciting moments in my career...

blender is a blessing for the 3d artist. Better every day. Let's pray it continues its progress and remains free software. I think it is in the same league of maya and 3d max, plus it haves some features that this programs don't have. And yes, it is not the software, its the artist that uses it. but it helps to has a deluxe program like blender.

@FMC19 Actually, there are studios using Blender. The Bridgestone ad you saw was done with a fork of blender, that had light texturing or something like that. And i'm pretty sure the FIAT and BMW videos are ads. Also, the Brazilian government used it once in a Petrobrás commercial. If i find it i'll send you. And 1:32 is an ad from Russia, i think.

It's Blender 3D, google it and hit the first result. It's a completely free program for almost everything: model making, sculpting, texturing, animating, video and image editing and it even has a Game engine with Python language support and it's open source so you can even change the program (if you know C++). You can find tutorials mostly on youtube to learn Blender from the beggining. You can use skills from blender in other similar programs, and if you're good you can earn money too. :D

I do not know enough about graphic design nor am I interested in creating works such as these, but thank you everyone that participates in Blender with your artistic knowledge. Please don't stop designing graphically. Also, can you tell these studios who make Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty games what improvements can be made to their graphic engines? Or just make their style of video games with Blender with possibly a very low monetary cost to put them out of business or enhance their honesty? Thanks

@Cobac before the ui was overhauled, blender was a mess of buttons and i loved it, i loved creating tons of windows with my groups of buttons, the hotkeys, the overall flexibility of the ui, it seemed scary but i got used to it, i have working knowledge of 3ds and while it may be industry standard with a simplified (at the time) UI, i can say that im glad i learned blender first, it forced me to learn things i most definitely would have overlooked while learning max

Anything 3DS or Maya can do, Blender can do too. And its expanding soooo fast too. just a few days ago they added camera tracking, cycles rendering, dynamic paint and an ocean renderer. Its an unbelievable program.
@Quello_di_una_volta13 жыл бұрын
Nice demoreel. I wait bmesh before translate all my work from xsi to blender (I like and sincerely prefer XSI in any case, but it is too expensive for my poor bank count). Bmesh and cycles will make blender finally a modern and competitive application, IMHO, a must have for a single artist or little studio.
@tiagotiagot12 жыл бұрын
1: Because the studio that originally created it decided to share their tool with the world. 2: Yes, pretty much; though i'm not sure it actually was responsible for 100% of the pixels in this video. 3: My guess is "probably"; but whether any given individual will help you depends, and what it depends on will vary from person to person.

ive also watched the zbrush demo reel. i say weve done and on par job with them. tho they have major film backing. we have a close nit community, and lots of talented artists who have to have a major learning curve, and well, do a more than fenom job at it. just my opinion of course. i just love blender. *32 year old tattooed mohawked punk sheds a tear*

Man I really need to learn how to properly use blender... You can create anything from the simplest cartoon images to photorealistic video, and I have no idea what I'm doing... What these artists can do is amazing, and I cannot believe such a powerful program is FREE :O
@jokegred12 жыл бұрын
@Exzmo But the free version is a) missing features that blender has b) Has no plugins allowed c)render sizes are constrained d) Illegal to sell made stuff. Correct me if I am wrong on any of these points

@Margalus89 I know exactly how you feel man. I'm doing a Game design course in the upcoming year and I know that we are going to be using blender. I've been trying to get some practice in before we start and some of the stuff I have seen that's been made with blender is marvelous... The great thing about that is, it shows that I can do so much better, and that makes me want to.

Extrem Userunfreundliches Interface, tolles Programm, aber warum verwendet eine größere Firma bei einem Showreel so niedrige Soundqualität?
@christian7465610 жыл бұрын
