Sometimes it feels like magic, how easy this looks.
@donmega5202
@donmega5202 2 жыл бұрын
The real magic comes when you yourself start coming up with techniques and alternatives to create even more expansive and complex ideas. There are tons of ways to make a propeller blade, though most alleviate towards radial array because arrays are instances. If you edit the original object, it affects all objects after so you only need to focus on one blade and all of its details as everything in the array copies it. Pretty neat.

Nice tip thanks. Just a note though, real propeller blades are angled from the roots and slowly twist at a shallow angle towards the tip. That's because they revolve slowly near the center and faster towards the tip ;)
@BlenderSecrets
@BlenderSecrets 2 жыл бұрын
It’s a Dutch propeller, they turn the other direction. 😉 No but seriously, to fix it: select and hide the cylinder part, select the root of the propellers instead of the tip and rotate from there. Then unhide.

I think I'm missing something. At 0:13 I supposed to bridge faces but the provided image in the .pdf book or the video file doesn't show which menu we use to get to the bridge faces option. (I've been trying to replicate this step for the past 30 minutes now with heavy google and youtube use, which makes me feel like I'll never be able to use blender on my own xD )

Mean crease is a method to “sharpen” edges without support loops. Select an edge, press Shift+E and move the mouse or press 1 on the numpad to set it to maximum sharpness.

rotation isnt working properly for me. each blade rotates but as one, meaning each whole individual blade rotates as one instead of it actually curving. also the mean crease part is rotating too. i thought that having a mean crease value of 1 means it wont budge?

@Tramwithacam
@Tramwithacam 2 жыл бұрын
@@komkumarkumar4451 Personally I would set a key frame for 0 in the y axis (or what ever axis your propeller is on) and then at the end of the time line set a key frame and type in the Y rotation box 360x50 (or 18,000) and set the key frame. Some of the value boxes in blender can actually do math so this can be helpful when you aren't quite sure on the exact number needed but you know you want something to spin a set amount of times.

Experience, and knowledge of the tools, i know it sounds cheesy, but that is literally it. I as a 2 year blender user recently compared myself to a person who started like 2 months ago, and when i was trying to create the same shape that he wanted, i got a good idea of how to do it from my past experience with similar shapes, and thus managed to do it in a fraction of the time, while turning it into a situation where i can teach the person about modifiers, and about the fact that sometimes less is more, in a sense that if you have less vertecies you have to do less work and you can offload most of the work to properly set up stack of modifiers ^^
