Looks good. Another way to calculate what the value of rotation should be to achieve a perfect rotation around the cursor based on the number of pieces you want is to divide the desired number by 360 . For instance you have 5 pieces in your object so you would divide 360 by 5 and the rotation amount would be 72 . With the cursor set as the rotation point you would then SHIFT-D then rotate Z by 72 , all in one move , and then SHIFT-R 4 times to repeat the function . :O)

bro you can make this model in 10s with another easier method, just checker select side faces of a cylinder and extrude them along normals and add simple defore modefire, if you have a couple edge loops vertically it'll work perfectly, ad a subde modefire and do the rest of the details.

What language is that?

Haha I was kind of sceptical but I just did what you suggested (using simple deform twist on Z axis) and yeah I very quickly made a pretty nice propeller object!

To get a reasonable propeller simply, Shift-A --> Add Cylinder --> set faces to 5 --> extrude side faces out to propeller length --> Go to modifier, add Simple Deform on Z axis --> Now add Subsurface Modifier. It won't look like his, there's no blade separation.

Cool! Didn't know there was a "skewness" setting there. Takes a lot of drama out of it. Nice work.

Wonderful demo! What render material did you use shown in the thumbnail? Looks like rust but in a cool way. Bravo!

It was really nice to watch, but i was hoping it to be more like a tutorial, since im still a total noob with blender. After watching your video, i still dont have an idea how to do what you did. In short: Cool, but useless for beginners.
@richardconway642511 ай бұрын
Yeah, some narration would have been nice. For a beginner, there's an awful lot of guesswork they now have to do to make sense of this. So overall, it's not entirely helpful.
@morgarin772611 ай бұрын
>spends more time setting up the gear instead of adding a cylinder and extruding its faces >uses gizmo >doesn't know about Shift+R No negatives, the video just shows a less than optimal method, which can confuse beginners.
