I am a oil pastellist lover having more than 30 different oil pastels brands, but I am store to buy others newest brands on the world market, because the best and popular ones are your pastel using and I am adding Sennelier, Neopastel, Pentel Artist, and Expressionist Cray-Pas and the cheapest Pentel Art which are my favorites ones! The Doms are more waxy Indian waxy oil pastel to be used with heat (candle flame) for more successful projects, according to my experience and Paul Ruben are excellent to be used for textures like you are using mostly! But, I am suggesting to use a Bristol smooth paper mostly for the beginners which it is easier for blending and the sand paper for more advanced ones! I would love to know better about the type of supports that you are using! I am following you on KZbin! I am a pictural artist with a touch of expressionist! 😊from Quebec in Canada!

Really Thank you for your visit. I'm from Ontario Canada. You are right about smooth paper are easier for blending. Paul Rubens oil pastel paper is what I use for blending, they are smooth surface paper like Sennelier oil pastel paper, but not that thick. Bristol smooth sketching paper is also a good choice.

@@xinart_easydrawing Oh no not advice at all, sorry if it came off as criticism of your current work because it absolutely was not meant to be that. Just a fun possibility I thought of! You are way more knowledgeable in this medium than me any day! I have learned so much from your videos and my oil pastels come in the mail tomorrow! Can’t wait to try them out! Over the years, I’ve learned watercolor, acrylic, chalk pastels, graphite, and charcoal but could never figure out oil pastels until watching the way you use them!

The first two oil pastels aren’t available in my country. If I order them from Amazon then the shipping charge is too much.There is a brand name Mont Marte in my country. Can you plz let me know if the pastels of this brand are good?Btw I already have the hard pastels of DOMS...

They are like medium soft, but I feel they are too oily and not very rich in pigment. Mungyo gallery is much better than it. But still they are more smooth than the hard ones.
