Yr color combos are amazing. Yr use of a creamy pastel crayon and a sponge got me investing I. A few new tools to accompany pencil work. And blending takes practice. Thx for th e paper tips, and quit worrying about yr accent. You sound just fine.

I love watching you work. I’m new to colored pencils. I’ve only done graphite. I thought I would just jump right into it but no, I’m finding more of a challenge than expected. Not giving up though. I watch the tutorials and in the meantime I add black and grays to my graphite pet portraits. I’m goal is color pencil portraits. Thank you for all you do.

BMD, I have a few questions for you: 1. Which do you prefer to use for creating the darks in your pencil drawings, a Conte a Paris Pierre Noire Sketching Pencil 2B OR the Cretacolor Nero Oil-Based Charcoal Pencil? And please tell me the reason for your preference. 2. Also, Which do you prefer to use. Mitsubishi Uni-Hi Graphite pencils OR Caran D'Ache Grafwood Pencils? And please tell me the reason for your preference. (I have Caran D'Ache Grafwood Pencils and they seem very smooth, but I have never used Mitsubishi Uni-Hi Graphite pencils, so I do not know what the difference is.) I hope you will answer these questions because I value your opinion and I have more drawing-related questions to ask you.

i use Nero if i want very detailed, hyper realistic style, Noire if i want a more expressive style. Grafwood & Hi-uni are both amazing, Smooth, fine...i just prefer, just a little bit d Hi-uni for hyper realistic skin tone, but i think Grafwood is better 4 a looser, expressive style, or for still life or landscapes.

Very good tutorial, Iam surprised you don't have any glassine paper under your hand so pencils don't smudge? I haven't used Strathmore Smooth so I can only assume that the pencils don't smudge on that paper....

Let me first THANK YOU for your time and experience in making these videos for us! you are an awesome artist and I have learned so much from you and your videos, don't sweat the language you're doing great! I to use color pencil in my art but i do an under painting in acrylic paint applied with an airbrush and lightfast markers on gessoed MDF panels. your method works for me as well.my question is... do you varnish or clear coat your artwork to protect it when framing?
@BMDPortraits
@BMDPortraits Жыл бұрын
I used to spray them with Fixative, but now i do not add anything im afraid that additional chemicals may affect the light-fastness of the pencils.

BMD, I have already told you that your English is Good. Every word you speak is completely understandable. You speak English with a Philippine accent, but that is okay. If you were a French person and you were speaking English, you would speak English with a French accent. Or, if you were a Spanish person and you were speaking English, you would speak English with a Spanish accent. Everybody in the World has some type of accent, because of where they come from. Please stop saying that your English is not good because that statement is NOT true.

It's beautiful, I love your drawings, the only thing I don't like and maybe you could improve is, please 🙏🏻 don't sharpen the pencils on top of the drawing, all the trash and pigment falls on top of the work and can stain it, even if you use a brush to clean the surface, but that's all, no complains on the techniques, very beautiful and useful tips, thanks for that! 👌🏻♥️
