Blendtec Total Blender Review

Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Blendtec Total Blender. Amazon LINK TO Blendtec Total Blender: amzn.to/1URLgQi It has a 3 Hp direct drive motor. It measures 7 by 8 by 15.5 inches and weighs about 10 pounds. The bpa free square jar holds 32 ounces. The 2 prong blade is ultra-hard stainless steel. The Blendtec blender comes with a user guide, dvd and recipe book.
The recipe book has about 200 recipes including Smoothies, Whole Juices, Milk alternatives, Coffee, Dips, Dressings, soups, meal ideas and even pet treats. The recipes also have nutrition information listed so it’s very thorough.You can grind dry ingredients like grains in the blendtec but it may cloud up the surface of the jar.
The touch pad has 6 pre-programmed blend cycles: Ice cream, ice crushing, soups, sauces, whole juice and smoothies. There is also a pulse button and two speed control buttons. The LCD information center indicates any failure conditions and the number of times a blend cycle button has been pressed. It’ll show an “overtemp” reading when the unit is overheating. The power switch is in the back of the base. The flexible rubber lid has a plastic insert that you can remove to add ingredients. The lid has a nice seal.
We’ll test the blender by making a few things from the Blendtec recipe book. We’ll make a berry banana smoothie, carrot juice and frozen mojito using three different pre-programmed blend cycles.
Let’s start with the smoothie. Place all the ingredients in the blender, put the lid on. Turn on the power switch in the back of the base. Place the blender on the base, there is no locking or turning so it’s very easy. Press the smoothie button and it will automatically shut off after 40 seconds. Each button runs for a specific amount of time and that’s listed in the user guide. If you want to stop the cycle, press any of the buttons on the lower row. The blender was stable and didn’t move around on the counter. It is loud as is most high powered blenders.
The speed buttons can be manually controlled. Press the speed button and go up to increase or down to decrease the speed. Once you find the speed you like, let go of the button and it will run at that speed automatically for 50 seconds and shut off after that.
If you want to chop or whip, use the pulse button. It’s like using a pulse button on a food processor, you have to hold it down for the machine to run. The machine will stop when you let go of the button.
To clean, add 1 cup of hot water and a drop of dishwashing liquid. Put the lid on, keep your hand on top and pulse for 5 seconds. Rinse with water. Dishwashing is not recommended. Unplug the base and wipe down with a damp cloth.
Overall, the Blendtec did a great job of blending everything we threw into it. You will be spending quite a bit of money on this blender but it does come with a 8 year warranty. If you like a blender with a computer and pre-programmed cycles, the Blendtec is a good choice for you. Hope this review was helpful. Have this blender for a few years and this is a great machine. The only thing is, I’m always holding the lid because the feeling is it could open. This is not convenient because the blender has an auto program settings which allow you go away while it does the job. Wish Blendtec will design a more securely closed lid and offer it for an existing customers.

I love mine had it 2 days and already has 6 cycles on it. The lid is the only thing that can be improved. The insert can let liquid out like thos lady says.

I've noticed that Vitamix DOES make blenders with presets to kind of compete with Blendtec's idea, but those cost in excess of $100 - $200 more to do so, and obviously much more expensive than Vitamix's manual blenders, meaning that you have to make a lot of guesswork in terms of how long it would take to do a task similar to that of an automatic preset. Not as fun, but... That might be one feature that the Blendtec might win out in.

Wow really? Maybe you should do your homework before posting because you're entire post is extremely ignorant and uninformed. Vitamix's constant deals say different from you. Right now they are offering a reconditioned Vitamix 6300 with 3 presets and variable control for $249. It also has a 5 year warranty. And if you think presets on any blender know exactly when the recipe is finished then I have an igloo to sell you that stays frozen for 6 months in the 120 degree F desert. Presets have no idea what you're blending or when the recipe is finished. If the recipe doesn't match the preset it will either overblend your drink or underblend it. You still have to determine when it's finished and many times stop the machine manually. Please don't post misinformation. I have both Vitamix and Blendtec and you couldn't be more wrong about how great the Blendtec presets are. I prefer to use manual control on both machines.

(I have read on Amazon that Blendtec Pro with anti-noise screen has 10 years warranty for the engine ,,which is very good and I saw a smootie bar in Milan where they use it )….however the price is very high for the 2 pro versions 1620/1640 euros but I guess it might be because of its quality materials and high durability compared to Chineses brands.. I am Italian and I am living near the Mayor Lake (7 lakes) in Northern Italy and my parents have a bar shop closed from 2012. I got back from Australia 2 years ago after almost 3 yrs and seeing a lot of smooties bars in there I got this Idea to do kind of same here... (not sure if it is a brilliant idea for my small village of 2500 people but I need to do an business plan first) because here there aren't many of this smooties shops yet..apart from bigger cities such as Rome Venice Milan..etc… I wanted to do a gelato shop but at 300 mt one little shop opened already ..WTF ;-) So being also close to a big Sport/Swim/Hockey center I thought to reopen our shop as a Smootie /Juicie bar with Vegan frozen cappuccino and and all kind of fruits juices made from frozen tropical pulp and fresh fruits ...and other stuff such as soy/Almond/Rice milk nuts etc etc ….I am unemployed atm from 6 months...this would be a go before eventually decide to relocate again overseas (which is not funny sometimes)...I'll be waiting for a kind reply … Thanks a lot ...cheers from Italy ...Ciao!! :-)
