The first time I've ever prayed for my enemy was in 4th grade to my teacher. She was friends with my friend's mom and every time I was talking to my friend I would be called out and not her. Each semester we would have an awards ceremony and even though our grades were the same and my participation was more I was in 2nd place and my friend was 1st place. When I prayed for my teacher and my friend a prayer of blessing, it changed the way that I viewed them. Each time I saw them I would not be reminded of this unfair treatment. If I was reminded, I knew I need to keep praying for them. The 2nd semester I was tied with her for 1st place! When we follow God's way we are filled with true peace and joy. We need to stop trying to resolve conflict our own ways!! We must follow God's ways. If we trust God then we trust his Commandments. I am now 25 y/o and I still follow this way of praying for those I have conflict with such as my coworkers/boss, roommates, parents, etc. The first time you ever pray this way it is hard, no joke. It gets easier over time. You think that person doesn't deserve the blessings and you do! But did you forget that God is a JUST God? He will determine who is deserving of the blessings. God will also open your eyes up to whether or not you are at fault for any of the conflict. A lot of times our ego/pride blinds us from seeing who is actually at fault. When we see what is our fault we must repent for it. Whenever we follow God's commandments, we experience peace and joy. Our unforgiveness is what is stealing our peace and joy. The purpose of us praying for our enemies is to lessen our ego/pride daily so there is less of us and more of Him. Here's how to pray and ask God to bless those you have tension with/are jealous of/hate: --Ask God for strength to pray that prayer. --Ask God that all the blessings He would have blessed you with would be given to that particular person and it be overflowing. --Ask God to bless that person in their finances, health, family/relationships, work, etc. Ask God that every aspect of their life would prosper. --Ask God that all the things that person desires will be given to him/her even if it is disadvantageous to you ----Only ask God to BLESS and not curse or for God to change that person Each time you are reminded of that person/situation, keep praying again and again blessing over them. I pray that for anyone who reads this comment will give it at least a 2 week trial. it is worth it if you want to experience peace and joy in your life and to see what God will do. Even if it isn't your fault for what happened, when you pray and ask God to bless that person, know that God is fair and just and he will give the blessings to those who deserve it. When we ask God to bless those we don't get along with, we see the situation through God's perspective and no longer our own.

Amen! This is so true. Praying to bless enemies has truly helped the most difficult circumstances. I needed a new phone but in time everything was overwhelming me and I realized I wasn't being fed with Our Lord's word via Joel Osteen which I was receiving everyday. Once I found some sermons, I started downloading and listening. Boy I was fed a lot from this spiritual meal. I am back to myself. Oh i did bless them. Oh but I did be nice to them. In fact I helped them out too. What did I get. Bad emotional mental and physical health. One continued to back stab me and spread false rumors about me I wasn't even able to face the world ! I did my deed but i have now washed my hands off them. I am sure god has told us to stay away from the devil. Well these people my abusers ,I was good to , continue to hurt me. I see no reason to be nice to them It hurts me more and they r toxic for me. Some say, "only distance yourself from a person who is against you" (which is what the bible calls an adversary or an enemy). But I've learned over time, even though you may be willing to forgive and attempt to overcome a person with love and kindness, they will almost always continue to despise you if they hated you for no reason or for reasons like envy. The bible itself says that a person who is jealous will not be overcome with gifts. This is why despite what you do to humble yourself and show them you aren't their enemy, and you continue to strive to make amends, even when you are not completely or at all in the wrong for the things they take offence to, they will almost always continue to despise you. And because of this, you can't subject yourself to perpetual attacks or bullying, as they continue to slander, demean, or hurt you in other words. Not only is it not good for you spiritually, where it can kill of your spirit, or make you weary and doubtful of God, but you may also start to become provoked. Moving away from an enemy completely when they are not in a stance to make a truce with you, is almost completely for your own sake and to remain humble and in the stance God has commanded you to treat them which is with love. Once you've shown kindness and love and they want to continue to attack, go back and pray for them, that God blesses and favors their life. Then, you simply allow God to fight your battles because if you allow yourself to become provoked and fight back yourself, God may not fight your battles if you take vengenance in your own hand. And then you actually sin too by being spiteful or going "an eye for an eye" in which he can and most likely will punish you, too. That's why he tells you to pray and bless and curse not. And that's why God said vengenance is mine to reassure you that he won't allow you to suffer hurt that he knows you endure while under attack of an enemy. I've learned to not even hope that your enemy receives vengeance from God as it can be simply hoping and wishing or cursing them back. Pray sincerely that God saves your enemy. If someone is saved and you are too, which is evident in keep God's commandments after receiving the Holy Spirit by grace, they wont be your enemy and attack you anymore and God will wipe away their sins including what they've done wrong to you so they dont have to face his fiery fury or wrath. That's why we pray for them. Not to discourage anyone, but I've also seen where someone who you knew was an enemy got saved but still continued to show the same hositlity towards you as if they had never been transformed into a new creature as the bible says all repented, washed in both water and spirit, and thus saved would. This has troubled me because it can make people around doubt God's divine power of being able to transform deliver, and heal. But thankfully, instead of doubting God when you see they are not acting as if God's power has transformed them, I take into consider that my experience for myself is my biffest proof that Gods power is really real because I know he put new joy and an eagerness to serve him in me and I can feel that transformation myself so I don't have to base it on someone else's experience. Sadly, some people may actually pretend to be tranformed as they may never have really put it in their heart to sincerely repent. Or they could simply still be such new to faith that they need to fast and pray to "break the yolk of bondage", which are passed sins God may have forgiven them from that they are still struggling to resist the temptations for when the devil brings it to them. In all, whether they become another brother or sister and Jesus and attack you still, or they just remain an adversary outside tbe body of Christ, pray for them and continue to love, pray for, and bless them. If they are outside tje body of Christ, or not saved, you should be able to walk away from thrm completely and still pray for them. I always tell myself that if I ever saw that enemy on the street corner with no food, water, or shelter, I would feed them, give them to drink, and help find them shelter as Jesus commanded. But other than that, I'd stay away from them and continue to pray for them.

I called God the Restorer the past 15 years. When I was restored to the Lord, I noticed all the things (I mean things-things) I had lost to evil people doing me harm that were beginning to be restored to me. Things I had lost were returned. I was given a loving husband, a good home, a good car, a good life with people around me. I have experienced God saying, 'Put it on my account, I will pay you back.' just like you said. God had truly restored what I lost!

i don't care what anyone says about you Joel Osteen but there is a higher power which speaks through you.am going through a very difficult and trying time in my life right now but after watching your video,i have let go of some of the bitterness i have been carrying for a while and yes it feels good.,i know and believe that with time i'll be free of every anger that i have been walking around with.it's hard to forgive someone who is not sorry but GOD is good and i believe he has a purpose for me.

The first time I've ever prayed for my enemy was in 4th grade to my teacher. She was friends with my friend's mom and every time I was talking to my friend I would be called out and not her. Each semester we would have an awards ceremony and even though our grades were the same and my participation was more I was in 2nd place and my friend was 1st place. When I prayed for my teacher and my friend a prayer of blessing, it changed the way that I viewed them. Each time I saw them I would not be reminded of this unfair treatment. If I was reminded, I knew I need to keep praying for them. The 2nd semester I was tied with her for 1st place! When we follow God's way we are filled with true peace and joy. We need to stop trying to resolve conflict our own ways!! We must follow God's ways. If we trust God then we trust his Commandments. I am now 25 y/o and I still follow this way of praying for those I have conflict with such as my coworkers/boss, roommates, parents, etc. The first time you ever pray this way it is hard, no joke. It gets easier over time. You think that person doesn't deserve the blessings and you do! But did you forget that God is a JUST God? He will determine who is deserving of the blessings. God will also open your eyes up to whether or not you are at fault for any of the conflict. A lot of times our ego/pride blinds us from seeing who is actually at fault. When we see what is our fault we must repent for it. Whenever we follow God's commandments, we experience peace and joy. Our unforgiveness is what is stealing our peace and joy. The purpose of us praying for our enemies is to lessen our ego/pride daily so there is less of us and more of Him. Here's how to pray and ask God to bless those you have tension with/are jealous of/hate: --Ask God for strength to pray that prayer. --Ask God that all the blessings He would have blessed you with would be given to that particular person and it be overflowing. --Ask God to bless that person in their finances, health, family/relationships, work, etc. Ask God that every aspect of their life would prosper. --Ask God that all the things that person desires will be given to him/her even if it is disadvantageous to you ----Only ask God to BLESS and not curse or for God to change that person Each time you are reminded of that person/situation, keep praying again and again blessing over them. I pray that for anyone who reads this comment will give it at least a 2 week trial. it is worth it if you want to experience peace and joy in your life and to see what God will do. Even if it isn't your fault for what happened, when you pray and ask God to bless that person, know that God is fair and just and he will give the blessings to those who deserve it. When we ask God to bless those we don't get along with, we see the situation through God's perspective and no longer our own.
