Dang, the song I Believe” tells you he was a black lead vocalist. The lyric, “her dad will not just see me as a black man”. Yes, Hootie was not the only black man fronting a white band. It’s just Hootie got way more publicity. Oh, the other group was Counting Crows. There were three bands like that in the 90s. Personally, I don’t give a crap. All three groups made awesome music.

One of their BEST albums for sure. I think "Real Good Friends" "South Hampton Avenue" and "Walking Off The Buzz" are REALLY underrated songs.
