This unearthed something for me. I remember getting this talk from my mom when I was twelve. All I got after that is a birthday and Christmas gift and maybe school clothes. She bought a lot mire for my sister because she was younger even though I was not any more able to provide for myself. Unless it involved school or holidays I didnt get much, and whatever I got I had to beg for every penny. In my moms defense, she was a single mom. She had this talk with me soon after my dad died. i have felt on my own since then. and ive struggled with poverty all my life.
