Wow, just wow! I will be 57 next month. I have attended church all my life (as a poser/weekend warrior) and have never had it explained to me as simple as John does here! I am 3/4 of the way though the book Wild At Heart and God is doing a great work in life and speaking to my heart! I never realized how broken my heart was! I have a renewed fire in my Heart!!! Thank you Lord for not giving up on me!!!

This is an amazing message, John. As a woman, I related to most of what you shared. As women, when we have those hurts, we become masculinized. This is where toxic feminity comes from. That anger that you had, we get it too. We make those "never again" vows. Then we meet a wounded grown boy, just like our wounded parents, in a different human suit. he love bombs us, sweeps is off our feet, drains us of all what little self esteem we had. Finally leaving with a stronger "never again" vow. We heal as much as possible then along comes another one who seems different at first, we open our heart ❤️ just a little only to have the rug pulled out from under us. This just happened to me recently after being divorced from the 26 year abusive marriage 7 years ago. I wasn't looking for anyone. Met him at church... widower of 7 years. He was another covert one. Told me he got down on his knees and prayed that he could meet someone else to love and met me that morning. We dated for 6 months, he never introduced me to his kids then I found out he was still visiting late wife's grave site once a month. I'm not making a "never again" vow... because I'm not giving any human that much power in my life again. Those vows put a lock on our hearts, and we curse ourselves. I'm giving my heart as much as I can to God, trusting Him to take me thru the healing inner work I need. This is a life long process.

I'm A Woman. And the opening lines, "We say no to pressure we say no to fear we say no to performance. Jesus does not ask that of you. That's not how he befriends people." Just that alone, is enough for me today. Thanks.

I'm not sure I've ever left a comment before, but I listened to this teaching two days ago and God has done/is doing something in my heart so radical I'm not able to explain fully yet. I'm 36 and have been walking with the Lord all of my known life and I'm experiencing something new in my relationship with the Father than I ever have before. A restored joy of my salvation & beauty in the design in which He created me with. I've been in His word as a pastor for 7+ years, in Bible studies my whole life and still missed this present working of the gospel that John laid out so clearly, "The offer of the gospel is the restoration of your whole heart." It's a present working, not a past thing that happened when I was "saved" or a future work that takes place when I meet Jesus face to face, but it's the loving, tender, intentional work of the God Who created the universe and is present with me now. I thank God for your obedience to the call God put on your life, John and as well the BraveCo team. I'm so stoked and can't wait to see how He uses this thing. Everything looks different and I want to share it with everyone. I pray that God bless you guys right where you're at in your adventure with Him and that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width & length & depth & height, to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Eph 3:18-19) I know I'm getting a little better taste of it. Hallelujah!!!

Watching this has healed my heart so much! I minimized my pain, numbed it w substances for decades. Now, 3yrs sober in recovery, intentionally building a support system i never truly had before, counseling, church&small group. It's taken years but i can now study the OT and see it dripping w God's mercy. I can visualize meeting Jesus' gaze where as eye contact used to freak me out. The Eldredge's, Dan Allender and Dr. Henry Cloud have been used by God to unlock pieces of my heart!!! Thank you, thank you, sir!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thank you so much for this episode. I have doubted the real worth of getting my heart back for a while, but today, in the chaos and the mess, I found this and watched it again. The first time I heard this one, I learned a lot, but I never really processed it or understood the last 10 minutes, where John takes us back to the uninitiated, wounded parts of our hearts and asks, "Where did this part of the 'poser' in me come from?" I finally realized how the pain parts of my life created this, and how it's not my fault. I've intellectualized it for a while, and I "knew" it ever since I read "Wild at Heart" three years ago, but this time, it shot straight to my heart, and I was able to find some healing. It's a process, though, and that's a good thing. Thank you, John and Jason, for helping me find the Jesus who knows my heart which I've tried to fig leaf. You are amazing men, and I deeply admire you.

I have been through this cycle over and over and over. It's humiliating; it's frustrating; it's enraging; it's embarrassing. It is painful to not be able to overcome anything alone when your wounds of your past beckon you to do so. It's a continual cycle of failures because my heart is so closed and hard, and unable to heal itself. My trust has been shattered into a thousand pieces and it is ravaging every facet of my life. I'm tired. I don't want to be alone. I want to be able to love my family and my friends freely. I want them to actually be able to see who I am, not what I try to pretend to be...

The full history of Adam & Eve is not revealed here, & is incomplete in the remnant of the Old Testament as we have it today. There is more to learn & understand about Adam & Eve that can help us know & understand ourselves & the purpose of our mortal life experience. We need to forgive to heal & we need God’s help to do it. We must invite Him. He doesn’t force His will on us. I pray we all will have our eyes, ears & hearts open to Him. That we will be humble, that is, willing & open to learning & applying saving truths. Thank you for acting on your desire to intervene in behalf of others. May you help heal & bless many lives.

Fay, thanks for your thoughts here. We need to forgive to heal. And God's grace is there for us to do it. And to move past, embrace the suffering it causes us, because Jesus is with us in it and through it.

Maybe he chose Eve over God. Only in the next scene, as God is seeking Adam, Adam does blame Eve. I think it is the fallen nature now speaking, what is wrong with me is another's fault. I certainly thought that before God came to me. And that's the part I do not understand, God Almighty was there! When I came into His presence I saw I had no covering, I was naked and wanted nothing more than to be with Him, pure, holy, loving and awesome, awesome hardly describes Him. Even with unrepented Adam, God covers Adams nakedness, covers his shame. Her shame, and tells the evil one the seed of the woman, the one you deceived, will crush your head, while you will crush his heel. This is the Gospel, later preached to Abraham. And finally to me, to you. With our whole heart, we worship HIM. ❤

I will never understand the need for pastors or spiritual leaders on stage using foul language. I understand that many will argue from of place of pride , but they can never use any Scripture to back up condoning foul language. A little leaven. If a child shouldn't hear or say it, it shouldn't be done in the Name of Christ

If this guy had the first clue who Jesus really is, he would choose his words much more carefully. He might be a good motivational speaker, but he's no more a Christian preacher than Joel Osteen. Listen to him at your own peril.
