The reason your Gramm taught you to wrap the thread around your button after you've sewn it on is so that your button will be a little raised, making it easier to button and unbutton it. It also helps to strengthen the stitching in the button. BTW, I think that your ideas are marvelous and you're right, "They are soooo cuuuute!" I can't wait to give them a try.

@JaimeDornanLadyАй бұрын
When making the towels, you can also cut the towels in half at the seam horizontally & sew one half on a potholder instead of both halves, so you get two completed towels rather than one! It honestly depends on what you want to actually use them for and how thick you want your towels to be. Some pple. just want them to be used as a decoration, so one half would be perfect! Also, if you don’t use them but for a quick hand drying towel, then wash it, it would work for that, too!

The wrapping thread and tying off, making knot in thread to sew was taught to my 8 th grade Home Economics class in 1968. The wrapping is part of making a shank for flat buttons. Another hack taught was to hold a straight pin over top of button and every pass over the top of button goes over the pin,do the wrapping around to finish,tie off pull out straight pin and you have some flexibility when closing . Been sewing buttons this way a long time.

While it does make them slightly bulkier, the slider bags tend to last far longer since the extra strain and tension put on the plastic is greatly lessened. There's also less tendency for the bags themselves to accidentally develop a blow-out at the top.

You have a wonderful energy and a natural gift for getting people motivated. My mom sewed like a pro and I remember being very young (like 4) when I saw her making a knot in the thread that way. She slowed it way down for me so could learn and I never forgot it.

@@herbalmagic6895 me and my bestie too when she's of school for few days or we have time together, I really believe it's going to be SOOO GOOD to be outside the house,

Very fun watching you make your creations. I also learned to wrap the thread around the button several times. It helps the button move a bit to go in and out of the button hole or loop. Without the wrapping of the thread, the button is too tight and hard to move in and out of the button hole. Keep on creating great crafts! I love what you said about “ done is better than perfect “!!!! 🤩

So thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank u!! Not only were the craft ideas brilliant n super economical, but I absolutely loved your excitement/ personality. I similarly get totally geeked out n hyped up over cutesy things like this- like the gifting idea of a pot w these holders n maybe a pkt of soup. Absolutely love it!
