Thank you so much for helping me through my toughest times. I’d watch you daily. It was so inspiring to watch young people have so much faith; to sing and and having so much faith. That was 4 years ago. Now I’m back, fully healed and rejoicing. God bless you.

I'm surprised by all the "Catholic" comments. This is a Christian song- period. We all believe the message- who cares who wrote it ( or the church they choose to worship in.) I am A Catholic BTW. Way to go First Baptist Church- what a huge churh you have!

Yesterday morning, I lost a good friend of mine. He went to the same high school. He was driving and all of a sudden the roads were icy. And crashed and died. So I was filled with grief and sorrow. But now I realize that he's in a better place called Heaven.

So glad I found this rendition, so nice, so beautiful, we are indeed blessed! I am so glad I know these songs as my mother would bring us to church every Sunday at St Mary's Catholic Church in Carson City NV. Were she is now asleep. As I long to be with our lord in these last days 2024.

Why does it matter if it's catholic or not? It's still a beautiful song with great meaning. For those of you who believe in Jesus (i.e. ALL Christians). == Rejoice and Be Glad. Your's is the Kingdom of God.

It’s probably because the Baptist church is typically very anti-Catholic yet they sing a Catholic song amongst other things started by the Church! Lol

Lyrics: 1. Blest are they, the poor in spirit; theirs is the kingdom of God. Blest are they, full of sorrow, they shall be consoled. Refrain: Rejoice and be glad! Blessed are you; holy are you! Rejoice and be glad! Yours is the Kingdom of God! 2. Blest are they, the lowly ones; they shall inherit the earth. Blest are they, who hunger and thirst; they shall have their fill. (Refrain) 3. Blest are they who show mercy; mercy shall be theirs. Blest are they, the pure of heart; they shall see God! (Refrain) 4. Blest are they who seek peace; they are the children of God. Blest are they who suffer in faith, the glory of God is theirs. (Refrain) 5. Blest are you who suffer hate all because of me. Rejoice and be glad, yours is the kingdom, shine for all to see. (Refrain)

Christian first. Catholic (denomination) comes later. All of us are one in the Lord. And God bless the many gifts of this choir. Please do not sully the name of the Our Lord with your derogatory remarks.

+Tim Palleschi False. The early church behaved as Catholic. Catholics are in fact Christian and sanctioned by Jesus Christ himself. The disciples were united in their thoughts. There was no diversity whereby this disciple was Lutheran-like and this disciple was Baptist-like, etc. History of Christianity debunks sola scriptura and sola fide. I would recommend anyone contemplating Christianity to read books about St. Ignatius of Antioch and Clement of Rome. Decide for yourself! =)

Catholic is not a denomination! Denominations come from Luther those who broke away from the Church! The Universal ( Catholic) came first, next the breaking away ( denominations) which call themselves Christians. Name Christian also comes from the Catholic Church. As all songs originated by the Church and the original Bible! Praise be to God!

What was the purpose of the gals not wearing shoes when it was their turn to do the sign language thing?
@jamestidwell4989
@jamestidwell4989 10 жыл бұрын
Not wearing shoes makes them look and feel special. It's all about them and not the God they claim to worship....typical protestants.
@iluvjuly4th165
@iluvjuly4th165 10 жыл бұрын
James Tidwell I figured it out. The gals are close to the edge of the stage and its steps and by wearing high heels there would be a risk in slipping and falling. Barefeet can easily detect the stage and step edges. I guess I answered my own question. On the other hand, why not do a different maneuver/formation that doesn't involve literally going to the stage drop-off edges and step edges?

+James Tidwell Totally disagree. They in no way made this song about themselves by removing their shoes. I am Catholic and witnessed many celebrations when liturgical dance was part of it. All the dancers, men and women did not wear shoes in some of the more solemn pieces. Did you miss the part in the bible where it says "dance before the Lord" ? It's all over the book of Psalms. King David even danced for God in the temple.

+Paul Tabares III This is not sign language by any means. If it were, there would be a lot more hand gestures. These were a couple simple gestures. Raising your arms and hands are a common way of worship and praise in all Christian denominations.

+Denis Essiambre They still should listen to each other more carefully especially performing in a concert. A choir needs to be able to be at 100% before going on a stage with the intent of creating a moment of emotions and memories. I have been singing choir about 20 years and my creed goes even for high school students.
