It's such a cool light. Is there a site where you can really find all the little options you have with this light? I still couldn´t find out what this potentiometer is for. Has it any function yet? I guess a future version could be used as a power bank too.

These lights are brilliant . I've recently bought two after watching this review , they are great for lighting up the conservatory. Is it ok to run them with 2 or 3 batteries? I have tried it with one as per shown in this video.

Last year I accidentally ordered two of these lights --- when I thought my first online order didn't go through ---- and I have had ZERO regrets about that. When two recent power-outages hit my house these two lights were the ones my family members argued over, and not one of my 20+ EDC flashlights. These lights easily light up a room, they have a beautiful color tint, and the batteries never seem to drain. (As you mentioned in your excellent review) If you are a flashlight aficionado, or if you are a person who lives in an area with frequent power outages, or if you are a frequent camper, you MUST get this light. Worth every penny.

They really need to come up with accessories for diffusing the light in various directions.
@LiquidRetro4 жыл бұрын

Jon M like some sort of top piece that would direct the light downward or, a similar thing that would direct the light upwards and, like a half shield that you could attach to the side of it for the times you would want to use it to light your way while walking but not blind yourself. I know all of these things could be a DIY thing but, would be cool if it was offered and or included with it.
@LiquidRetro4 жыл бұрын
That would be kind of neat. I wo Der if it could be done in firmware just use the downward firing LED
@travis11184 жыл бұрын
I did see a few posts in the forum regarding accessories such as a reflector and such. As far as making the light point up or down, that kind of defeats the purpose of a lantern. But I suppose with the reflector, you could lay it on it's side and the light would reflect upwards. There is also talk of an LT1 deluxe version that would have power bank capabilities.

Great idea with the case. I may have missed it in your review but I can’t seem to confirm that the blf lt1 is ipx8 water resistant. It’s nowhere in description on their website. Can you confirm?

I can't confirm it's ipx8 for sure. It should be reasonably water resistant for rain, puddles, but I would be hesitant to fully submerge it.

Wouldn't been cool if Sofirn made those fat high lumen soda can flashlights to where you could put the plastic piece, diffuser part thing, on top and use that as both a flashlight and lantern? Just lower power of course so it would both last and not get too hot.

@@LiquidRetro Heck I was gonna get the Q8pro and diffuser/holster. 1st I thought drill hole and put wire through diffuser then I though the weight of that damn light is probably way to heavy to hang from the diffuser. Guess I'll just have to stand it up on the tail.

@@LiquidRetro I got the q8 pro and diffuser. The diffuser fits very loose but it would work for a lantern. It's hard solid plastic. You'd have to find some type of rubber gasket to make it a tight fit. Drill a couple of holes in the plastic diffuser and get a wire to hang it from. It would totally work and it's hella bright on high!

I love my flashlights, but when it comes to lanterns and camping, I’m still very fond of my Coleman mantle lanterns.. idk, just something about them I find really cool. Fill em up in the evening and they’ll still be burning away come sunrise. No charging, no batteries, just some occasional pumping and gallon of fuel, or gasoline for one of mine for a weekend. Another bonus is that no one else knows how to use them so no one’s gonna walk off or mess with them 😜.
