I have the older LT1 with Anduril 1 UI, it has (4) 18650 batteries. I love the Lantern, it's way better than any Olight lantern.

I bought one recently and at first I was baffled by the instructions. But now I really appreciate how versatile it is. And how bright it is.

I own both de LT1 and LT1S. I love the LT1 a little better for the longer runtime - that one works on 4x18650. I love these sturdy camping lanterns. They are really durable, weather resistant, rechargeable are give sufficient light in both my van and tent. I even use these at home every day. Tip: I made a diffuser cap for them from a silicone mug.

Yes, it's a great little lantern, with a powerful feature set, good build quality and excellent performance. Although compact, it's too heavy for a backpack whenever light weight matters, IMO, but excellent for emergency use, evenings in the garden, working on the car, and so on. One feature I chose it for was the red flashing setting (2 clicks once in red mode) which makes it a very effective warning/emergency beacon. It would be good if Sofirn offered the option of a magnetic base for added stability, but I can live without that. The only design weakness I've found is that when opened the waterproof USB cap sits flush with any charging cable, and is *very* easy to pull out completely when the cable is removed (and a real pain to get back in again if you do).

About a year ago I asked on a reddit sub forum what's a good entry level EDC flashlight that hits all the sweet spots. Overwhelmingly the feedback I got was sofirn sc31 pro. People said it fits everywhere from budget EDC to rock solid dependable EDC. I bought it and I got to say it's been wonderful and I love that customizable interface. This past Christmas I bought a couple for stocking stuffers!

Nice review of a nice product mate 👍 I see what you meant on the Fenix pd25 about the UI and the different options , they've pretty much covered it all here . The only problem is remembering all the steps , I like what Milwaukee does with having a separate mode button for that particular reason . Good video mate 👍.

Waterproofing is very important to me. You can find yourself in the dark in bad weather easily. You add something like the Olight “Olink” and hanging this lantern from your car hood is a breeze.

oh yeah. Olink magnet is crazy powerful. Section of chain, there's your tree branch, temp. awning, etc. attaching. lol, well, moving a lantern around temporarily happens often, why undo the chain. Olink is pretty cool.

Looks like a winner ! Love everything about it, especially the NONproprietary battery ! Now...will it run with smaller batteries, using adaptors ? THAT would make it basically perfect !! (Nitecore MH25S hand held light can do so, some others as well. It is NOT a lantern tho'.) As of now I use silicone caps (some glow in dark) with my EDC lights. The only shadow is the is the light base, where as lanterns have top and bottom shadows. They also provide more security from accidental activation.

I've woken up with a couple inches of water in my tent and my flashlight sitting right in it. I favor waterproof lights. Ordered this one from ali express on 3/15/23. One of the shops is currently having a great sale on the black model. ~$24 or ~$27 with battery.

One thing that would make a 100% complete is if it had a flashing mode for the red light. For emergencies. That way you could put it on the back of your car when broken down at night. Awesome find. Great video as always.

Bought this based on review. Very impressed ill be buying one or two more, my only nitpicks would be to put the USB C on the side to be a bit better in wet conditions. The other would be that once in turbo and you turn it off and go back to turn it on its back in turbo with one click, id like to to go back to whatever level it was in the non turbo mode. The hold press to go to low sorta solves this up to a point. This lantern will also run on a Protected button top 21700, in my test I used an Orbtronic brand battery. This video doesn't do justice to how bright this lantern is. It's outstanding.

Thank you so much! The information about running it on protected batteries was exactly what I was looking for. It seems like the Orbtronic batteries have a length of 74.8 mm, so I guess my 76 mm Fenix batteries should probably fit as well. That was really the last piece of information that was missing. I think I actually like the UI of the Fenix CL26R Pro better, especially if I have to explain it to someone, but this one has clearly the better specs and costs half as much, so I'll give it a try.

I get the appeal of anduril and other fancy UI's on lights for people who like to nerd out with their lights but I've found them at best a nonfactor or at worst a big negative to my experience with a flashlight. Just give me on/off and maybe a low mode. The extra stuff just increases the chance of me ending up in strobe or lockout accidentally.

I have just been reminded by a foreign friend to choose Sofirn LT1S better than Nitecore LR60, but it seems that the LR60 can use 2 21700 batteries compared to 1 21700 5000mah battery of Sofirn LT1S so which one is better? And please recommend the best battery charger for their 21700 battery.

Wow - really, really nice! Does it charge / work with the button-top cells of Olight? Slight improvement: The battery cap at the bottom is too large/thin - If the light gets dropped the cap will very likely get bent, and thus the IPX rating will be lost 😞 They should shrink the removable part at the bottom to the inside and slightly recess it.

Technically yes but would require a small magnet on the positive end because the olight battery is proprietary. I would not recommend using olight batteries in anything because the negative pole is exposed on top and could be a problem for some applications.

The $41.99 is the price for a Sofirn LT1 mini (without battery) on the Sofirn site. And don't quote me, but I think you can get another 20% off using HSLWAY72, I am not sure if that code is still vaild. $33.60 when its all said and done. But the mini uses the same 21700 but not turning off one side and no red light. It is smaller.

Nice job on the vid 'n cool lantern Max. ~ Yeah, I've two Mini Olight lanterns, gave out many as Cmas gifts, but dayum of non-replaceable batteries when the time comes. Is water proof important? eesh, we drink beer when out in woodsy/other. Things get forgotten from time to time. ~ What got me rolling on thought of new waterproof lantern was I found a Ray O Vac Sportsman while out trudging in nearby woods. It was laying in the dirt all crusty like being there four seasons. (vs Coleman jobbies) I spent an hour cleaning it well after new /3D batteries turned it on. It was as new used lantern. wowza. ~~ lol, In walks a vid of Olight's mini rechargeable lantern with runtimes that rival a Coleman left out overnight. (ducking (-: ) ha, The Coleman white fuel jobbie on low was still giving weak light after 10 hrs when the words oh shite came out. Rain proof 'n at least 12 hrs run is very important. ~ Fahhh, I was kid of the sixties. Swiping dad's flashlight to join in flashlight tag 'n batteries failed mid game...oh cwap, I'm gonna get it if don't confess. (-: ~~~ Silly Olight/and me. I've a couple of their Limited Edition i1R2 Pro's. ...near whole of my adult life I lived in 17 to 50 lumen light with Mini Maglite's/Maglites. 5 lumens/12 rated hours I find handy on my beltloop/enough for most. Limited Edition, even tho freebies, non-replaceable battery torch is silly as any. blah blah, sorry so long on an old video.

70cri? That's bloody disappointing in a lantern.. they could've used something like e21a and got 95 cri. The older big LT1 used LH351 90cri LED's. Replacing those with 519a 5700k and (optically dedomed) 2700k would be ideal. Or optisolis.. if you wanna be fancy.

I'm not memorizing a book to operate a light. I want on, off , maybe a high, low. Also prefer the high low on a different switch from the on off. I'm not doing morse code to operate a light. People will pretend, but nobody ever uses those other features, they are essentially useless and irritating.

@TopDog8762
@TopDog8762 2 жыл бұрын
@@mrtacohunterm.d.355 Not just lumens, lumens has become the defacto standard for the power of a flashlight and is misleading and usually fudged. Candela more/just as important often not even mentioned. But does not matter much in a lantern with a plastic diffuser, just as CRI is not going to mean much coming thru dense white plastic. I don't know where your getting twice the battery power? All 3 - lr60, LT1Sand LT1 mini all run off a single 21700. The lr60 has a mag for two 18650, run together that is not going to give you double the runtime, longer yes but no where near double. As for physical size, the LT1 mini would be my choice. But for price, value, performance, form factor and features I would take either Sofirn over the Nitecore.
