Awkward Ali Yep! The furry community is not all about sex or being sexually attracted to animals. That may be what it's all about for some folks, but not all in the community. We're all just ordinary everyday people with interest in anthropomorphic creatures! We create art, fursuits of all kind, new species, and much much more! This is why I am in the fandom! I am also a fursuiter and when I went suiting out for the first time, I had to gather more confidence than ever! I'm glad you enjoy the fandom!

I was roommates with a guy who had never heard of furries before. Dude was a big time stoner, but a cool dude. One time, me and my girlfriend had just finished working on our fursuits for like four hours straight and decided to take a break and watch a movie. It was late at night and my roommate was just coming in, except he was super high. Saw us in our fursuits, but didn't say a word. Just sat down was like "what are ya watching?" and chilled with us. I was worried about what he'd think if he ever found out about us, but he just chilled with us for like an hour without even mentioning the fursuits before heading off to bed. The next morning, I asked him about what he thought and if he had a problem with it. Dude just looked at me and went "Shit, that was real?" Fucking guy thought he just hallucinated us as giant talking animals and went to bed to sleep it off lmfao. After explaining it to him, he still didn't really understand what it was, but said he was cool with me doing my thing. He was just relieved cause he thought someone had spiked his weed with something. Damn good guy, that dude.

It's like whip and pain fetishes, there are some who like them, but not most do, therefor, those seen, or have been known to like it, are not as accepted socially. And then, imagine being a serious (or at least a bit serious) song artist, and seeing your song in a furry dance compilation, when it's not your thing. Another thing is that, I wouldn't like the idea of my kid seeing a grown (or older) person in a furry costume in the supermarket, then growing up to realize the sick image that formed in their mind. I guarantee good parents will agree, so their child can explore cultures at their own pace when they grow old enough. It's only sick because furries are not massively populated/popular, (and the *millions* of pr0n pictures that exist), so they are not a nationally accepted culture, especially outside of America. Imagine a furry (suiter) walking around in a store in America. Now, imagine a fursuiter walking around in a Russian store, maybe an Australian store getting take-away, Africa, or Mexico or any place you can imagine. Awkward as hell and mostly going to get their butts handed to them. (I can't speak personally for each individual place) I am on the fence about being a furry too, heck you can even consider me one, but I just like being me, a human.

This is precisely why I'm in this fandom. Everyone is kind, welcoming, and friendly! Everyone was cheering and attentive, no matter how "good" or "bad" you were at dancing. (Good and bad in quotes because it's all subjective.) That last song seemed so accurate to the fandom to me. "We all go down together." Seems so accurate, seeing as everyone is friendly to everyone. The whole fandom is centered around interaction and art. (Art of any kind, be it dancing or drawing.) This is a very accurate display of the spirit of the furry fandom. Hey! There is no specific age you HAVE to be to own a fursuit, but it is recommended that you are at least 18, because by then you will have stopped growing and your fursuit will last longer. The cost of fursuits range from maker and to how complicated the design of your fursona is. It can range from $1000 to $5000 or any other price! Now, about your last question. That I don't know, seeing as I've never been to that convention, and I don't know how the set up was with that competition. I hope that's all the info you need!

1: even with zero effort, this problem will solve itself over time. 2: there are classes where you can learn. these people weren't born knowing these moves. 3: no, this is how you GET confidence. you learn how to do something and then go DO IT. yeah it's terrifying at first but that's why it's exciting. you just do it anyway. focus on the excitement part of the fear. then you focus on actually doing the thing you're trying to do. then it's over. repeat a few more times in front of people and then you'll start to have confidence.

I was once against furies, and I thought that furies were once bad. I had only seen the fury drawing with inappropriate, and suggestive themes (gay included).
