BLI Paragon New York Central J1e Hudson Review, Run, and Demo

A few months ago i got the second run of these from a train show in basically brand new condition for 200 bucks (canadian) appart from the sound being obnoxiously loud to the point of hearing the tender shell rattling and the really dim headlight I'm incredibly happy with it

You should be able to adjust the volume somehow, either by adjusting CV’s or with a physical potentiometer somewhere. As for the headlight I’m not sure. They are great engines

@gopernoperstrains3160 the headlight doesn't bother me too much, just looks kinda weird next to stuff like my rapido d10 or hell my more modern broadways even but if I really wanted to I'm probably just gonna readjust the position of the light to be closer to the smokebox door

There is one piece of a J1 Hudson's left well a Hudson it's a tender I forgot the number for it though

It looks like you have the first run of the Paragon 1 Hudson. I know those ones had issues which is why Broadway made a second run with some improvements, I have that version as well as a Paragon 2. I would agree with you though after owning both I might keep the Paragon 2 and sell the Paragon 1.

My L4-B Mohawk had the Paragon Quantom QSI. It burned out after 10 minutes.

I bought mine several years ago back in 2019 I believe. It is a beautiful locomotive but one flaw mine has had is it keeps derailing on curves. I've been constantly readjusting my curves and testing them but it keeps derailing. I've even tested out other steam locos with a wider wheel radius and they do perfectly fine. So I don't understand why mine keeps derailing?

Compared to previous BLI Hudson runs, I think this one has below average printing sharpness and the fount for the numbers is way off. And where's the famous oval under the headlight?
