I just wanted to get back and say how right you are. I love this thing. Now I don't have to ever wish I had a Blichmann HellFire.

That’s awesome! I’m so glad you love it.

Great video, thank you! I just placed my order along with an SS Brewtech 14 gallon chronical. I'm excited!

That's great! Let me know how the SS Conical is... that's one of the things on my bucket list.

I will let you know as soon as it arrives, probably a week from now. My wife bought it for me for Christmas :)

Thanks for posting this. I put one of these on my Christmas list, need to replace my current one.

I'm glad you enjoyed it; it really is a kick butt burner. I highly recommend buying the leg extensions.

Thanks for the great review, just wonder if it is safe to put the burner on the deck, or should i get some brick underneath ?
@HomeBrewingTV4 жыл бұрын
Never took a temperature under the burner, but from what I know of Blichmann, I’m sure they did extensive testing, and there is no warning about it. I think you’d be ok.

On an advertisement I have seen a Blichmann Top Tier burner. Is that different than a HellFire burner?
@HomeBrewingTV5 жыл бұрын
The Top Tier burners were the predecessors to the HellFire. They were almost identical, they just improved the BTU output of the HellFire. If you can pickup a Top Tier burner cheaper, you’d like it.

@@HomeBrewingTV, I contacted Blichmann and they told me..." We do not recommend using this burner for any other use other than making beer. We didn't provide any safety measures for using this burner for flammable liquids like cooking oil.
@HomeBrewingTV5 жыл бұрын
I would 100% agree with Blichmann on that. You could start one (pardon the pun) Hell of a fire if using it to heat oil...
@707SonomaComa5 жыл бұрын
@@HomeBrewingTV, can the Regulator be replaced with one that has less PSI like say 10psi or even 20psi to tone it down. I am still waiting for the Blichmann HellFire burner in the mail. I have not even seen it yet. I just thought it would be nice to get the best of the best for frying food. I think maybe I made a mistake darnit......
@HomeBrewingTV5 жыл бұрын
The regular isn’t the issue. The HellFire is easily controllable, it’s the fact that the burner is so big that if grease drips down there it’s going to catch fire. I’d stick to beer with this one.
@1goblingreen4043 жыл бұрын
What diameter pot can it handle? I'm interested in this burner for seafood boils. (Sorry for blaspheming!)
@HomeBrewingTV3 жыл бұрын
If you use the retaining arms the largest diameter is 20 inches. You could go beyond that by simple mounting the retaining arms upside down, or you can order the larger 1 barrel sized burner. Excellent choice for your application. Cheers!

I have a highboy 10 gallon not brewwing beer cooking meat and broth for canning what is the width. my pot I think is 15 inches..

wait wait wasn't paying atention..if it fits a 15 gal certainly will fit a 10 I am just concerned about the low heat need a simmet for what I am doing.
@HomeBrewingTV7 жыл бұрын
CHILEDOUG KIZERIAN - If you leave the stop blocks on it is just shy of 20", but you can remove those all together, and the sky's the limit!
@HomeBrewingTV7 жыл бұрын
CHILEDOUG KIZERIAN - The low flame is very nice, and stable. You will need to keep it out of direct wind if you want to keep it lit. I brew (most of the time) in my garage, and have no issues keeping a VERY low flame going for my mash.

¡THIS IS A PRETTY NICE REVIEW!. I GOT ONE BUT IT´S THE FIRST TIME THAT I USED AND I HAD THE YELLOW FLAME AND THIS SMOKED MY KETTLE OUTSIDE AROUND. I CONECT IT WITHOUT HOSE AND REGULATOR AT THE GAS TANK. THIS WEEKEND I´M GOING TO USE IT AGAIN. ¿WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND ME TO HAVE BETTER PERFORMANCE?.
@HomeBrewingTV5 жыл бұрын
If you are getting a yellow flame, you need to adjust the air mixture. More the cover on the screen where the gas goes into the burner until the flame turns blue.
@johnh3517 жыл бұрын
wish they would have made the legs like the Anvil's. The Blichmann looks pretty unstable with the straight leg extensions.
@HomeBrewingTV7 жыл бұрын
J S, I do like the tripod stability of the Anvil burner, but the HellFire really kicks ass when it comes to heating up lots of water/wort quickly. Once you put a kettle with at least 5 gallons of liquid on the burner, the weight causes it to stabilize. Thanks for the comment, and keep brewing my friend.

Trying to decide between this and the bayou classic kab6. You have experience with both?
@HomeBrewingTV6 жыл бұрын
Patrick, I’ve got not experience with the kab6, but can tell you for sure that the Hell Fire is a kick ass burner, and very precise for low temps as well.
@smith71956 жыл бұрын
Yeah I here the bayou classic can be hard to control. Is that true? I would also use the burner for seafood boils . Dual purpose instrument.
@smith71956 жыл бұрын
Also does burn a lot of fuel?
@HomeBrewingTV6 жыл бұрын
Couldn’t tell you anything about the bayou classic burner. I’ve only ever used the Hell Fire by Blichmann (excellent burner, great control), the Anvil Brewing Equipment burner (great budget friendly burner, although the low heat is harder to control), and the Dark star burner by Northern Brew, which I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
@HomeBrewingTV6 жыл бұрын
If you crank it up all the way it will burn fuel quickly, but under normal circumstances (boiling liquid) it will give you about 4-5 one hour boils on a standard propane tank. (That number is a guess. I’ve never actually measured it).
@coachkb237 жыл бұрын
Do you think this is too much for 5 gallon batches?
@HomeBrewingTV7 жыл бұрын
coachkb23 - Any burner will do for five gallon batches, but the precision of the low flame (for use with a mash tun), and ability to really heat up fast on larger batches really makes this the best burner (scalability). In my opinion. Long story short is it wouldn't be overkill on 5 gallon batches.

How many BTUs does that burner produce?
@HomeBrewingTV7 жыл бұрын
Ryan, 140,000 BTU/hr at full power, 80,000 BTU/hr in efficiency mode (50% power setting). It’s a great burner.
