Very good description. Wish I had seen this when I got the unit which I love.

I have spent a lot of time researching all the different systems out there as I want to purchase one soon. Blichmann is the one I keep coming back to.

The unit looks good and an expandable future is very nice. Yes, I use it with the relay unit, HERMS two 5.5kW elements. My only complaint is the program: a timer goes ON with a step ramp temperature to the next stage. Is it possible to send you my control unit for reprogramming/an upgrade so the timer will be triggered with the target temperature and not with ramping up? Thank you.

You can adjust this in the settings called MASH HEAT RATE. Review our manual for instructions how to determine what your mash heat rate is. This should fix your issues. Cheers!

@@BlichmannEngineering sorry, it did not help. I replaced the control board with Auber 310. It works. If you will decide to pull an upgrade I'll send you mine for reprogramming. The Auber looks a little ugly but does what I want to. Thanks for your help.

Can the gas version also work with 120V heating elements if gas is not being used at the same time?
@BlichmannEngineering2 жыл бұрын
Our gas controller is specifically made for gas burners and will not work with an electric heating element. Cheers!

Hopefully someone can answer this question: Over the long haul, is it cheaper to get the electric or gas? I realize either way you have to pay to run wire or gas lines to wherever your setup is.

electric is more cost effective
