Next episode will be North America section area after all! I'm going to do another backstage tour of the oceanium next week and I want to include that footage, so the oceanium backstage will come as a bonus episode at a later point :)

That enclosure that is not accessible used to be for a lizard species and there was a small snake terrarium next to it but they build a wall in front of it so u cant go to those enclosures anymore probably because they moved the animals to the education reptile labrotory. And in the bird enclosure with the extra glass used to live some desert squirrels because this area used to be a desert area

For me when it comes to cownose rays, I tend to mainly associate them with being in ocean tunnels alongside green sea turtles, blacktip sharks and various tropical fish.

So with rays in touch pools, their barbs are clipped either yearly or twice yearly since they actually grow continuously. If you leave a ray’s barb alone it’ll grow back normally

We definitely have a lot of aquariums with animals you wouldn’t think about seeing at an aquarium. The aquarium close to me has a huge tropical greenhouse that has sloths and macaws and such. And a Australian Greenhouse aswell with Kookaburas and such. I believe we had bats and golden lion tammarins at one point but don’t know if they house then still it’s becoming quite common nowadays to house more than just fish and such. Just surprising zoos over there don’t have as expansive species nowadays

I think it's a good thing. Thinning down the species list to give the animals more room and more place to shine.
