My life has been a lie thinking margarine tastes like butter... :( As someone who is allergic to dairy, Not lactose intolerant but legit allergic. I always assumed that margarine and butter were similar in taste just not consistency. I'm very depressed by this episode... Now I know to only buy the olive oil smart balance. I only buy smart balance, but I don't think I've tried the olive oil one. Super excited yet sad...

My friend swears by the avocado oil one for baking. They're lactose intolerant and have tried a lot of imitations. I used it to make a dairy free brioche bread for them too and it worked well. I'm not sure if this is useful to you, but hopefully it could be

There is nothing comparable to a good local whipped butter from the US. I have been all over the world and there’s just nothing quite as good. Kerry comes close, but it’s still not fluffy enough and it’s a little too pronounced. Italian butter, at least in my opinion was pretty much tasteless. French and German butter were maybe alright, but sometimes they’re almost sweet and that I don’t like. I live in Europe now and can’t get any whipped butter like I used to get in the states and I miss it.

Totally a texture preference thing that alot of countries don't consider to be a separate thing from regular proper butter. Like if you like whipped butter, just grab a whisk! 😅😂😂
