I never thought that I could love other people's people as much as I do now. And Dimash taught me this. It turns out the person at any point of the planet has the same strings of the soul! At first I began to love the Chinese, for the fact that they appreciate Dimash. Then I began to see the comments of people from France and I began to love the French. Then reactors. Then I saw from America, Africa, Australia, from the islands of the Pacific Ocean. And I realized that I can love all strangers. People are beautiful beings. Dimash changed me. This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and doesn't speak any Chinese] , and least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode]. This was the first time the China audience and other performers on the show heard him sing. Between his first performance ["S.O.S." in French] and his 2nd performance [Vita's "Opera 2" in Russian], he quickly won their hearts completely.

The Singer is a reality singing competition for established famous Chinese language singers. Dimash was brought in as a "wild card", totally unknown to Chinese audiences. SOS was his first performance, and earned him literally overnight 2.4 million followers on Weibo. The song comes from a 1978 French Canadian rock opera entitled Starmania, and is said to be one of the top 5 most difficult French songs in the world. Since you wanted to know what the lyrics said, here, they can be summarized as follows: "Why do I live, why do I die? Why do I laugh, why do I cry? Here is the SOS of an earthling in distress. I have never had my feet on the ground. I'd rather be a bird, I feel bad (uneasy) in my skin. I'd like to see the world upside down, if ever it were more beautiful seen from on high, on high...! I have always confused Life with comics. I feel like wanting to metamorphose; I feel something that pulls me, pulls me, pulls me toward on high...! Etc etc "
