I recently found this too. Its only one of the most recorded gospel songs in history. In my study of country blues I found this. Known as the best singer to come out of Philadelphia, Williams was basically a busker /street performer. He said of playing gospel music....when he played it, police would hassle him less. Connie Williams died at the age of 106 in 1974. He simply played from vast and humble experiences. This brother is there waiting for us. He sung the script. Sing it to yourself.

I had the privilege of seeing him when I was a boy down town Miami. We would go by and say hi on the weekend I remember I asked my dad what was wrong with him and he told me he was blind. The next week I walked up to him and said I was sorry he couldn't see.he said I can see.just not with my eys.

Don't stop what your doing we love these videos. Also please don't stop making your records. My whole family enjoys your music. I even purchased all of your available songs from itunes so i can listen on the go. I wish I could purchase your older music from itunes. I am glad you want to keep the pop out I enjoy your music just the way it is. Some of my new favorites - Living in the Past, Good Love of Mine, and Way Back Home Again. It all just keeps getting better please keep them coming. This type of music allows me to reach a part of myself that is some times hard to find.

When I was younger I remember listening to a tape recording of the song Hope. It was so real. That song has been stuck in my head ever since that day.

I read somewhere that he was an accordion player. Someone wanted him to record with a guitar. So they gave him a guitar and let him "get acquainted" with it; and then had him record this song. I love his version of this song!

I discovered Connie back in 2013 and this still blows my mind, I then tried to hear as many versions of this song as I could. The only one that comes close is Sister Rosetta Tharpe's version. Specifically this version. If you've never heard this make a blind video listen to it, Im sure you'll like it. She has one of the biggest unknown voices in music history I think. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGiki5Rqqrp5gqc
