I have to agree with that. Many singers begin losing their voice after a few years (like Brian Johnson, Robert Plant, Geddy Lee, etc) (although Geddy has compensated for it), but, with Dio, he kept that amazing sound right until the end, & Hansi not only kept his voice, but has improved it as time went on.

wickerspin1119 I think so, too. But that shouldn't be published with Blind Guardian but maybe with a new band with another (maybe german ;) ) name. I loved when Hansi is like screaming into the mic at 2:30 and he stops and says "War okay" (=was okay) like it was the most normal thing to have that kind of just extraordinary voice you cannot describe and which is, in my opinion, one of the greatest male singing voices I've ever listened to Blind Guardian for ever \m/

Yeah definitely true for both, Dio's voice changed and grew more harsh, but he made it work and he still sounded amazing right up until the very end, even when he was dying. A true shame he's gone. Hope Hansi and Guardian stick around for a long, long time!

@crzgfx Wait, what are you talking about? Hansi has an AWESOME vibrato! Even on those ridiculous powerful notes, he has learned better control and has this quick pulsating vibrato on them. It's incredible! I know what you're saying but just thought I should mention that. Without the vibrato, he wouldn't be as good as he is, or in other words, better than the others who simply scream (e.g. Graham Bonnet).

@celticgirl08 He can scream as a raging god, but that's not what the crowd or the band need from him to do. Touring is the hardest thing that great musicians have to face on their careers... If he doesn't preserve his voice by singing clean, his voice will crack soon. There can be also the possibility that Hansi was ill, which also happens and is a hard problem to solve while touring... Greets ^^ PS. In Barcelona he sang godly, he was in perfect shape for sure.
