He wrote this song cause he was in heavy addiction. And people people kept on telling him to change and change. Unfortunately he passed away, he loved this song. Small fact he has these lyrics written from the song on his gravestone "But I know we can't all stay here forever So, I wanna write my words on the face of today" And then, they'll paint it

Amazing song. The most underrated band of the nineties in my opinion.

First live music I ever saw in person was when Blind Melon played Intimate & Interactive at MuchMusic in Toronto. It was in September '95 and I'd just started high school. Seeing that show was an amazing experience. RIP Shannon.

Beautiful as always! Thank you! Shannon's connection to guns n roses is that he is from the same small town as Axl Rose and his sister was one of Axl's friends. This was the first song he ever wrote, and the other guys from blind melon happened to be at a party where he was playing a solo acoustic version of it. He left too soon but left us with so much. #shannon

You'd love "Mother" by them. It's a really deep song about mother Earth and what we are doing to it. Really emotional.

Wonderful song on their debut album, great acoustic guitar and great motivational lyrics. The band steered clear of modern studio effects to create a pure sound🎻🥁 Enjoyed your reaction Enoma 💫
