one band that was sooo underrated and had an overwhelming amount of originality

Love this song. Listened to it in high school and I graduated 2016. Shannon Hoon was one of a kind in terms of musical talent.

This is my one of my favorite songs of all time. I was 15 when I first heard Blind Melon now I'm 31 and it's amazing how you grow up and listen to a song and it means something different from years ago.

I had a friend who told me when I was 15, ‘I’ve been listening to so much blind melon’. I thought to myself ‘the bee girl video with that repetitive guitar lick? Eh hippies’ A couple years ago someone posted a video of their song ‘change’ an acoustic live studio performance. I watched it and thought, ‘is that blind melon?’ I went on a binge of their videos and albums and have loved them ever since. My girlfriend too. Great band. Still.

I love this song , it's beautiful and so is shannon..miss hearing him terribly. At least we have these to come back to and our c.ds and dvds but nothing beats him live in person, his musicians fit him like a glove..They are perfect and sound unique and one of the best group of musicians out there...shame in the 90's they were underrated and for what ?

I've often said, if you want to look for era's with great bands, look to the 70s and then look to the 90s. No other era compares and both decades are close in terms of producing great bands

Saw an interpretation of the song i kinda wanted to throw on here for people wondering..."Seeing truth before Logic." If you understand the word totalitarianism, and the depth of the rabbit hole...You might understand where Shannon is coming from.." this song proved to me i wasnt alone when realizing just how fucked up the world could be

An ancient axiom runs thus "O Lanoo, a second to see, an eternity to believe" which I feel ties in nicely with "Will they let you see and will you believe?". The most important aspect of it all is YOU. The secret is always contained within the germ lying latent yet always ready to spring up and then fall back down like so many restless waves upon the back of a beach. Its a comedy, a tragedy, a love story and you are the star! Quality comments brought to you by: Carls Jr. :D

@Garboho - I agree with what you said except the 90s don't come close to the early 70s. The amount of diversity and depth of music in the early 70s was unbelievable. That said, the 90s were another peak and music today can't compare.

I consider myself truly neutral. I report on what I see without bias as much as is humanly possible. I come here and read over and over again something like the following: "Shannon was great but those darn drugs took him away from us" bleat bleat etc etc... It is the cries of the sheeple with their fear-bleating and THAT is what gets OLD my friend. It is the IQ curve in effect ya'll and frankly Murl, I for one am sick and tired of the slave like mentality :D

@NEOPEAKOIL Lol so people's comments aren't good enough for you? I have respect for anyone that actually listens to this band. Like anyone that goes past the song no rain is cool in my book. The music speaks a lot so even if someone doesn't get the lyrics they get the mood surrounding the lyrics. And the lyrics are all up for interpretation. But it seems like whenever someone tries to discuss the lyrics on one of these videos someone gets butt hurt about it.
@NEOPEAKOIL14 жыл бұрын
Not much substance in youtube comments it seems. This band was great blah blah and nice video seems to be the only appropriate comments yet I gaurantee that the open minded people who brought us this wonderful music, via whatever means, would agree with me wholeheartedly that it is shallow. These songs, these lyrics have significant meaning yet damn it if it doesnt seem totally lost on most people. And lastly, I despise all you anti drug people and your learned behavior/fear.

an illusion that helps us believe the unbelieveable... I perceive adults acting like children and children acting more like adults enough to conclude that this to must be an illusion. Try some clutch if you are angry or perhaps some pink floyd if you are sad and maybe some Son house death letter if you want to go back to what appears to be one of the original sources. Pain, suffering, the blues and in between hymns and ballads of our overcoming and ascention.

will they let you see? ZEITGEIST movie and will you believe? Now that is the question, isnt it... Shannon IS awesome - we do not die - we were never born, you are not who you think you are, you are not "here", here is nowhere, forever means all is not seen, never means forever brings everything special thanks to soundgarden :) From Clutch to Rage to Tool back to Jimi, Zep and the Stones and even further to Son house and beyond to things like the outlawed scottish bagpipes...

@Caleb4551 not denying your comment but alot of the greatest musicians used to deal by using and hate to say this but what he shared with the world might not have happened had he been a straight edge person so using and abusing are too totally different things and there is a fine line between the two i would never promote drug use however i am not against having fun i myself have always been the one to try and keep my friends and family grounded when the world is pushing all Meds on them

Pretending to know "some shit" and knowing are two very different things, Johnny :) Is Grammar Nazism all you have? If everything was just fine in the world you wouldnt hear a peep out of me unless in jest or perhaps to sing etc etc... But no, Johnny, its pretty damned messed up and its everyones duty to raise awareness of the fact which may ultimately lead to a correction. Glitch, get it? like in a matrix, a computer simulation et al... "and who controls the chalk talk?"

Now listen up, I have done my share, when I was young a mountain of pills, bales of marijauna, enough alcohol to float a battleship around and enough LSD to get a grateful dead concert tripping. According to many, I am one of the smartest people that they know. I do not think I am the smartest by far yet I wont sell myself short as is the custom, either... I am self employed after a career in a high tech field for a fortune 100 company. Problems with your sterotyping? You havent a clue
@MrJcenter711 жыл бұрын
that's kind of judgemental. Just cause someone thinks the video si nice doesn't make them a sheeple. Maybe you should go on a new world order video or Monsanto video and complain. but do what you want , you probably will anyway. I'm trhing to think of a comment with substance. maybe your just looking for something. Shannon was great and so was the band. haha
