Thanks for posting this. This was on a CD-ROM that came free with Launch magazine. I remember that there were categories on the screen, and you could click on a band member to hear them talk about that headline topic ("What was Woodstock like," "Who is your hero," etc.). There was also a performance of "Skinned." A friend gave it to me because he knew that I loved the band. The saddest part was that, like much of the promotional material for Soup, many didn't see this until Shannon was gone.

Soup is an incredible album. Every song is amazing. The debut and Nico are awesome albums as well. Shannon will forever be dearly missed but will live on forever through the music he created and helped to create.

I am Brazilian (Brazil, South America) and an ardent fan since 1993. This band crossed my path through a cousin and at a time of great suffering for me. I really wanted Shannon to know how much her songs helped me not to go crazy and screw up. Unfortunately, this is impossible. He left too soon.

You can just see how Shannon gets all the inspiration for his lyrics ! He is/was very deep and intelligent!

When I see Shannon here, I cannot believe he's dead. But he was looking very skinny/underweight here, must be around August/September 95, definitely around the time he started to get back into heavy drugs.
@goongoon92903 жыл бұрын
This was probably May/June, because he said he and his girlfriend were getting ready to have a baby in a couple of months, and Nico was born July 11, 1995.

He doesnt look as bad here as he did in the metro live concert they did a few weeks before he died so i think this is probably earlier in 95. In that show he was so clearly high as hell, his voice was so raspy and he was really struggling to sing on key. He was a mess and here he isnt that bad yet.

@@trenken according to Rogers, he was not using drugs during the Metro. He didn't get back into it til LA, relapse was only about 10 days before he passed

As much as I love Blind Melon's music, I'm finding I don't like the guys in the band as much anymore. They're kind of losers..
@89ksokd914 жыл бұрын
That was so worth saying. Good thinking before you typed.
@trenken2 жыл бұрын
I mean yeah i guess you could consider shannon that. He obviously threw his life away over a selfish drug addiction. The other guys idk much about. They clearly werent as self destructive as shannon was.

@@trenken That's true. I heard Brad Smith never touched any of the drugs. I love his music too, and his Abandon Jalopy project is awesome.
