@@titan5243 no cobalt is to my personal knowledge the most radioactive weapon that we’ve ever created it can and will kill anything not in a safe area like the metro (Russian metro systems have doors that hermetically seal) and even then there’s still an insane amount of radiation in the metro

Considering that you can spot the little dark one from Metro Last Light in this very mission and considering the suspiciously helpful nature of the hallucinations throughout, (visions of Anna leading you in the right direction, etc.) I propose that the visions are the doings of the little dark one who is serving as a sort of guardian angel to Artyom and following him around. You can also find an easter egg in the Caspian region with the little dark one.

The librarians in the book are scarier, they are described the same as shown in the game, but they can mimic what others say. So Artyom and a Scholar go to the library to get the location of D6 (I think its been awhile since i read Metro 2033) Anyway get separated and scholar is being killed by a librarian and tells Artyom to leave. The Librarian than says "Leave... Alone... Leave.....Now" or something along those lines. Like fuck that.

I know i might be late to the party, but on the Telepathy part : We assume the dark One (probably correctly) are telepaths and such is for the Blind one, but i think an important variable ahs to be taken into accoubnt : Artyom. I think Artyom is a telepath, as you yourself said some human can be. Maybe artyom is a human with unknowingly high telepathic abilities, at least for a homo Sapiens, and that's why he can communicate with the Dark Ones AND the Blind Ones. In the books it's also, he is able several time to have intuition s and "feelings" that happen to be true and he manage to guess behaviour and secrets.

In my personal theory the dark ones were only in Moscow. But since Artyom is the communicator between the dark ones and humans and was adopted by a dark one as well as protected the little dark one. They sensed that you were going to Novosibirsk and wanted to watch over and protect you. As they even said one day they will return.

I admit I didn't particularly like Metro Exodus as a game - badly designed open world levels, and reliance on a stillborn stealth system (various tools necessary for stealth just aren't implemented)... I remember my first playthrough of Exodus and I thought that it was dark ones instead of the blind ones until I saw it. Also, a theory of why a dark one is in novosibirsk is that they are planning on living there. I remember hearing (and this may be completely wrong) that they feed off of radiation, and novosibirsk has an ungodly amount of that, so they might find that as an ideal place to live. Novosibirsk houses the big russian biological research facility called "Vector", which has been obviously responsible for creation of "green stuff" and the medicine. IRL they do peaceful stuff like inventing new medicines etc, and have one of two world's remaining containments for smallpox samples, which they do research. However, there's some secret stuff as well. Obviously, the city was one of primary targets and was way less protected than Moscow (characters say that in game), so it was way more irradiated.

I disagree on that. The kind of weapon you describe exists. A neutron bomb. A special type of nuke thats triggered above the target area. This leads to the extreme rsdiation of that bomb grilling everything on ground, without "damaging the goods". Considering the radiation and the intact city, i guess it was some kind of neutron bomb type weapon.

But then again,in the same chapter there's a anomaly happening outside the building and also high levels of radiation during the entire level causing artyom to hallucinate. IMO I don't think the voices artyom hears are comming from the blind ones.

Doing the good ending and getting the achievement for not killing a blind one, I nearly shat me pants couple of times trying to sneak around them and that one, fairly long cassette recorder you can listen on the level made me so freaking nervous because I was running out of filters and thought that the blind one chasing me would hear the tape and come running through the wall for my ass 🤣😂 this level was awesome as is the game as a whole.. great video, as usual..

Roanoke, do note - Miller himself observed/mentioned, why is the city so radioactive even though it was not heavily hit. The buildings are still standing and intact no destroyed ground craters creating swamplands etc... Yet the radiation level is dozens times more than Moscow
