as a gay dude I have to say I feel like they really nailed a lot of the feelings of this kind of thing, obviously young romance can get complicated and awkward already with straight people but there's this extra layer of complexity when it's gay, constantly second guessing some of the vibes you're getting because was that what you thought it was or are they just totally straight and being friendly and even if you get to a place where you're pretty sure you both feel that way about each other, there's the whole thing of wondering if it's even okay to have those feelings or do anything with each other, PDA is also almost completely off the table and even if you do PDA it's often a much bigger deal. Also surprised you didn't notice that Kusakabe is Araragi lol

This was originally a manga from 2006 and 10 years later they made a movie, there's a second part (only manga) that is sotsugyousei (when they graduate and live their lives together and stuff), and I really hope that they make a movie for that one too. I really loved this movie ❣

if you want a sequel, you should read the manga! the movie only adapts the first volume of the manga, but there's actually several volumes after that one, and it's still publishing to this day! the story continues past high school into their adult life, and in my opinion, the older they get, the more interesting the story gets. you should really read it if you have the time!

I enjoyed this review. I’ve seen Classmates a few times, my favourite part is them in the sandbox and seeing Kusakabe dancing while shouting ’baka’ is very cute.

So nice to see someone reacting to this little gem of a movie. There's nothing deep or complicated or amazing about the story - it's just a simple tale, handled with finesse, of two young men figuring out how to love each other. The art style took me a few minutes to adjust to the first time I watched it, then I grew to love it. It's so different from the typical anime style - very watercolor and soft and unique. If you're ever in the mood for another BL movie, I highly recommend Umibe no Etranger (Stranger by the Sea). It's gorgeously animated and it goes a bit deeper into being a gay man in Japan - the emotional trauma that can cause, the self-hate, the fear, the lonliness. But it isn't a dark or gloomy story at all. It feels realistic, especially with the MC being an adult rather than a teenager. Anyway...thanks for reacting to this wonderful movie and so glad you liked it!

you’re lowkey the only reaction youtuber I really like, most reaction videos I see is just like a 20 min video with some scenes and it’s interrupted by the creator talking which is honestly fine but it gets annoying when I’m trying to watch the scene, and some other reaction videos are just pure silence to the point it’s just awkward and boring, you on the other hand don’t pause it every seven seconds and just let the movie play while you give some very funny and very interesting reactions, not too many that it’s just pure yapping, and not too little as to keep the audience drawn in. good work shark!
