Non-spoilerino review of the show: To me, Hilda s1 is really good, great animation, vibe, characters are quite fleshed out (especially Hilda ofc) and it really balances that somewhat episodic-serialised feel. However, it sometimes falls too much into the ‘single new foe/creature per episode’ trope (like the villain of the week, if that makes sense) without fleshing out the whole world as much as id mabye like, especially after ep2 when the show shifts from Hilda being in a unique, unknown place to the audience to suddenly being in a sometimes understood, mundane place (at least earlier on in the series). Plus at spoilerific drama later in the season. 7.5/10 S2 is amazing, basically no issues. The show finds a way to be episodic, serial, expand on the town lore/story whilst also putting characters into far more new settings to get lost in, unlike my gripe from s1. 9.5/10 S3 is great, better than s1, with an amazing final episode, though i wish the season built up the stakes/hints up more for it, since it mostly all felt like sorta clunky build-up to that final climactic point without always feeling like it had as much time to cook as it should. Plus again only minor gripes other than that. 8.5/10 *Edit:* oh yea and the film after s2 uhhh yea good… uh good like a 👍/10

The first episode of S5 would have definitely fit better as a season finale, swapping with the more generic Prowler episode. Oh well, at least you don't need to wait a year for S5. The rest of S4 is certainly diverting, giving Mary Jane back and having Peter reveal his identity and propose, clearly regretting his hesitation before. Strongest episode of these is probably the first one with Harry. 'Look at little Goblin Jr... gonna cry?'

In the comics Harry had drug problems literally hallucinated Green Goblin and became him. Here they made it so Norman was talking from another dimension guiding him. Which does work.

Hobie Brown was originally the original Prowler! It's really funny. Now the Prowler is more associated with Aaron Davis. And Hobie is more associated with Spider Punk.

Hobie Brown was the original Prowler in the comics. Aaron Davis was only Prowler in the Ultimate universe and then when history was rewritten after Secret Wars Aaron was brought to the main 616 universe (although the version of him from the Ultimate universe had died).
