I really love Discord in this season. In the very beginning, when Celestia pointed at Twilight to rule Equestria, he said, "Oh, fine. Go with the obvious choice." He immediately knew that Twilight was the best pony for the job. True, Discord has never been as close to the others as Fluttershy, but he does consider them real friends. I have no trouble accepting that he would do all the actions he did this season purely to help Twilight, even though they ended up going horribly wrong.

Exactly. I know that most bronies hate discord for his actions, and they don't think he should've been forgiven, but honestly, I think his heart was in the right place. He's still new to friendship. He doesn't really know what he's doing, half the time. I think he's doing his best tho. It just turned out, this time, that his attempt to bolster his friends backfired really hard. He was messing with things he didn't fully grasp, and he underestimated creatures he really shouldn't have. In short, I think he should be reprimanded quite firmly, but I don't think he really needs discipline.

@@northproductions6104 Idk that it's a price, per se, but Discord isn't always sharpest bulb in the crayon box. Especially when it comes to friendship. Sometimes, he can be smart, and sometimes his plans turn out ok, but really he's always flying by the seat of his pants. He won't admit it, but he just has no idea what he's doing half the time. Hence his whole motivation for his villainy in the past was he just wanted to play around and not have to think about things. He just wanted to do whatever he wanted without having to worry about repercussions. Cause he's not good at it.

@@KaityKat117 Well whither he was smart or not, in "Twilight's Kingdom" the price he had to pay there was his magic taken away and his friends not trusting him. Also when he sent the villains to get the bell ala for power, he paid that price for his magic, and, if not for the main 6's forgiveness, his friendships. I don't know if I'm overthinking, but I think it's interesting.

I will never shut up about how the ugly cake scene manages somehow to be both hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time in perfectly equal measures. Props to the writers, animators, and Andrea Libman for bringing this one scene together so wonderfully.

@@zacharygilmore1075 well yes but at the same time, remember, this is pinkie pie. To her a cake being ugly is a disaster. Maybe on it's own it wouldn't be so panic worthy but it was like the straw that broke the camel's (pony's?) Back at that point. Not to mention that forcing ponies to make something that's their life's purpose and special talent, but a hideous, disgusting version of it is really twisted when you think about it.

Going back, the only smart villain here is Discord himself. He knows that the magic of friendship is beyond more than just having a crown or necklace or anything like that. He knows that friendship can create power stronger than any other power, so he turned most of them opposite of what they are in hopes that friendship isn’t going to be present. Of course he was still defeated and blah blah but most of the villains never really knew about friendship creating power nor have they ever cared. All they cared was to rule over and get to the point, whilst Discord wanted to rule all of Equestria and make sure Twilight and her friends are divided apart from eachother (and just avoid the idea of friendship in general). If anything, they have Discord to thank here for reforming himself. He’s so powerful that even Princess Celestia had to take a gamble and have the main 6 reform him.

Discord and Cozy Glow are the most powerful villain and I would be because first I would watch Mane 6 and their behavior, personality so I could knew their weakness and then I would defeat them and unlike Chrysalis I would take care of Starlight as well.

I love how king Sombra disappears and reappears as a shadow. It is sad to see that when Discord pretended to be injured, all the ponies except for fluttershy were not worried about him but inly on how they can defeat the villain without him.

Back during Episode 1, Nightmare Moon was able to destroy the Elements, however once Twilight's friends showed up and she experienced the spark, the Elements reassembled themselves, their magic not lost. I hope that the Elements are able to rebuild themselves again.

Yep, and all so they could have Gen 5 take place in the same universe, despite not having any actual connections to the Mane Six or to Gen 4’s story. Opaline is a one-dimensional villain who has a terrible backstory, design, and personality. The idea that she could have ascended to becoming an Alicorn and that she overthrew Twilight is just laughable. If they had the mysterious Alicorn be a grown-up Cozy Glow, I could’ve accepted Gen 5 because it actually tied itself to Gen 4 and used an intimidating villain. Just imagine Cozy Glow and Flurry Heart being the main Alicorns of Gen 5 and fighting each other throughout it. Could’ve been epic.

Anyway like always Mane 6 needs to deal with everything, Celestia and Luna are so useless but I liked Sombra in this season. uh...I don't understand, why DID Discord sacrifice himself? I mean he was handling it fine, why'd he take the last blast so dramatically, what was so dramatic about that first-person POV of the blast, the view showed it was heading for the Mane 6, but Discord was already defending the blasts to the Mane 6, why not sacrifice himself, the first time, if he just sacrificed himself for the Mane 6, after 10 same blasts to the Mane 6? Why'd he sacrifice himself for the Mane 6 so suddenly and so dramatically, and why the POV of the blast, we ALREADY knew Sombra was targeting the Mane 6...can someone please tell me??
