Hey guys, thanks for doing this video! I would suggest you re-test all of these chairs again without a headrest.. i feel like chairs like Leap V2 which have bad headrests could maybe rise in the ranking. Also, since these are meant to be work chairs, i would also suggest you guys test out which chairs feel best when in a working posture rather than a relaxing posture.
@TheBlindGuys3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Dan here - the guys tested the chairs in every position including relaxed mode. As for the headrests, some of the chairs come with it as the only option and after they tested some of the chairs with and without the headrest, all of them came to the conclusion that they love headrests even if they didn’t think so prior to testing!
@gsards3 жыл бұрын
@@TheBlindGuys Hey Dan, fair enough! I was just interested to see how the Leap V2 would fare without the headrest against the rest of the chairs, because the headrest on that chair makes sitting in it really horrible. But sounds like you guys did that already so it's all good!

As much as I need to replace my current chair because it's so ragged, I just couldn't beat it up like that; it's been a trooper. It's 10 years older than I am, has provided thousands of sitting hours for myself and the previous owner, and is actually fairly comfortable and encourages good posture. But it's falling apart. I ordered a Steelcase Series 2, but with options that basically doubled it's price (the argument being that even though it's almost as much as a base Gesture or Leap, those chairs with the same options also go up another $500, or even more).

Really like the breathability of the mesh. Also, by chance, would any of the Blind Guys know how the seat foam holds up in the Gesture over time? Thanks in advance and thanks for the awesome vid
@TheBlindGuys2 жыл бұрын
Yong here. Personally gesture was a better fit. Aeron was good but just doesn't fit my shoulders well though others may disagree. Both are good choices but I'm in favor of the gesture. @TommiContursi3 жыл бұрын
I was also a bit surprised, but especially with Embody it's very important to be able to adjust the settings that suit the user. You can easily make it to be a very relax chair or a stiff uncomfortable task chair. Of course, the lack of headrest affects as well.

Yong here. Although video didn't show it, I thought it was still good and actually mentioned while recording that I think this one is the Size T80. Would have been my fourth or fifth choice overall. Two reasons for this. First the headrest isn't as comfortable compared to the ones I picked. Second the seat feels slightly angled down where my knees feel lower than my hips (to be fair, others didn't really feel this so might be just my preference on chairs).

Although I have not sat in either, I really like the Herman Miller Embody, and I also really like the Steelcase Gesture. I would really appreciate it if Yong would comment which one he would like the best, and why he does, or doesn't like each of them. I am looking for the one that feels the highest quality, is comfiest for long sessions, something that raises high enough for my legs (I'm 6'2"), and I like being able to lean back in the chair for movies, and forward in the chair for college projects. PS: Sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to make sure I asked all of the right questions.

Yong here. Honestly both are great choices. Embody is really comfortable but just wished there is a headrest which is still in the works from another company Dan follows on his KZbin channel. Gesture was really comfortable during the recording and would recommend for anyone our height especially if you like a headrest on the chair. That being said, I have sat in both chairs for only a couple hours at most so I wouldn't know how it feels long term but do plan on getting the Embody in the future since my family isn't as tall as I am. Also, Dan says he has seen more negative feedback long term on the gesture than the embody. Would appreciate if you use our links to to buy one of these chairs and help our channel out 👍

@@TheBlindGuys I can't tell you how appreciative I am for this comment. Thank you Yong and Dan! I honestly forgot I wrote this, and just checked back now haha. I think that I'll go with the embody then after having read your comment. I really appreciate what you guys are doing here, and on Ahnestly. Keep putting out quality videos, and I have no doubt that you guys will blow up big time. I know you guys didn't ask for my opinion, but I think you'll be able to reach more people if you advertised yourself as more of a tech review channel on new tech rather than mostly a chair channel with the occasional tech review. I appreciate whatever you guys put out, and I really respect all the work you put into the vids. Again, keep up the good work!

Do you get chairs from these companies for free or did you buy them all? That would be quite pricey if you bought all of them!

Dan Ahn from Ahnestly here - I got around 70% of the chairs you see here for free. I review tech and chairs on my other channel, Ahnestly, so companies send me their chairs to check out.

Who would have thought that a swivel chair review would be so entertaining! Question, what are your thoughts on the X-Chair X4 ? Where would it rank? I want to get my friend who is a lawyer an executive chair. I don’t know which one to get. Great video guys.

Hey Dan here! So x chair and the Mavix chairs are the same brand. Mavix is just their gaming branding of the same chair! Check out my video and should help you narrow it down! kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2Gyf5qobr6tZs0

@@TheBlindGuysthank you so much for your reply!! Is Mavix M9 / x chair suitable for a slim 5’11 person? And for a law office? I watched your review of the M9 where you mentioned it’s not worth the price point. But here, it came in as number second. I am debating between Herman Miller and Body, Aeron, Mira, and X4 i’m looking for something that’s comfortable and sleek and modern looking. I’m actually totally blind, so I’m going purely on reviews. LOLh Love your reviews/videos.

That’s really kind of you! I personally think the gesture looks better than the M9 and is a much better chair! The M9 is really really plasticky and definitely not worth that price point!

You should release the who video of them reacting when they first sit on the chair

This was very helpful, decided to get a Gesture, couldn't be happier, much better than a gaming chair I used to have.

why there was no secretlab chair ?
@TheBlindGuys Жыл бұрын
We did have a secretlab chair in the test. Just didn't make it into one of the testers choices. Check the description for a list of all the chairs.

Ha, ha, ha!!!! My dream chair is my $25 dollar hard wood chair. It is the best. I have been using it for years.
